The Grove Consultants International’s 2 Day Personal Compass
Workshop
We invite you to participate in The Grove’s 2 Day Personal
Compass Workshop April 24-25, 2010 at the Shintaido Farm in
Deerfield, Massachusetts. The workshop will be led by Tomi
Nagai-Rothe, Senior Consultant, who co-developed the prototype of
the Personal Compass ten years ago and has been facilitating
visioning sessions for individuals, couples and small groups ever
since. The Grove is a San Francisco-based consultancy and publisher
that has more than 30 years’ experience in providing tools and
services to help individuals, teams and organizations successfully
envision and implement change. Our unique visual methodology allows
you to successfully envision a path forward and make clear choices
in your planning.
WORKSHOP FOCUS AND OUTCOMES This workshop is designed as an
exploration of one’s life journey and future options. Its process
parallels The Grove’s Strategic Visioning™ Process used in
organizations worldwide to gain alignment on future direction and
strategy. Participants will work through The Personal Compass — a
journey that begins at a crossroads and encompasses one’s past,
present and future. In a supportive environment, everyone will have
the opportunity to use individual reflection, sketching, movement,
collage, reflective walks and other exercises to amplify their
creative work. Conversations in pairs, small groups and the large
group will weave into a rich dialogue. Each participant will be
asked to complete the personal history exercise prior to the
workshop and will leave with a draft vision, future choices (goals)
and an action plan.
LOGISTICS The workshop will run from Saturday, April 24 at
8:45AM to Sunday, April 25 at 4PM. The cost is $475 per person and
includes snacks in the morning and afternoon, lunch on both days,
and all materials. Several rooms are being held at local B&Bs
and area hotels. Please contact Bela at [email protected] for
details. The Shintaido Farm is 2 1/2 hours from Boston’s Logan
airport and 3 hours from NYC. It is just over 1 hour from the
Hartford airport.
A note from Tomi Nagai-Rothe who visited a Shintaido Farm event
in 2007:
“Turning off the main road, we drove through the organic
vegetable field and
wound up the hill to the main building, set in a forest
clearing. A few steps away we could look down on the lush
Connecticut River Valley. The Farm is a clear,
peaceful place. Ideal for a retreat.”
April colors are vibrant and full of promise. It is a time when
things come alive and the area is most beautiful! Deerfield is
located in the heart of the Pioneer Valley where there is so much
to do! Visit historic Old Deerfield, take in the views from atop
Mount Sugarloaf, take a boat cruise on the Connecticut River, tour
the rural towns and college towns . . . or simply enjoy the
beautiful scenery. We will be delighted to see you at the workshop
in April. Please bring a friend and feel free to pass this note on
to colleagues who might be interested in joining us. Best
regards,
Bela
