1、Instruction for Use

1 Download and install the APP

APP download:1. Go to VStarcam official download website: www.Eye4.so, anddownload the APP according to your phone’s system.2. The APP can also be downloaded in Google play, APPLE store,360mobile assistant and pea pods etc.3. Scan QR code below to download the APP.

For Android and IOS

2 Register an account

1. Open the APP, select “Register now”, create a new username andpassword, write them down(in case you forget them), click“submit’ to finish the register.

NOTE: The password require 6-50 characters, can’t be Chinese orsome special characters. You can also register with mailaddress.



Note: It is required to bind youraccount with your email address,for retrieving your forgottenpassword (If you skip this step,and forget the password, you maylose access to the account). Afteryou login, please navigate toMy-Account number andsecurity--Mailbox Binding anddefine the recovery emailaddress.

3 Retrieve password

1. In the login page, select “Forget Your Password?”, then follow theprompts, enter the registered email, click on the link in the email

, input a new password twice in the redirect page, then the newpassword will take effect.



4 Associated account login

1. In the login page, there are three ways to login, as shown below.You can choose to login with a third-party account, like Tencent QQaccount or Blog account.

5 Add cameras

1. After logged in, select"+", then you will get the Add note page,there are two ways to add the cameras: Scan the QR code andOthers. The ‘Others’ contains the following four ways:1 Wireless installation. To configure wireless network for

models that support one key WiFi configuration.2 Search in LAN. If the phone and the camera share the same

WiFi, you can search the camera directly and add it.3 Manually add. You can manually input the UID number or scan

QR code to add the camera.4 AP mode adding. It requires corresponding firmware to gain


support.Video tutorial. You can refer to the video tutorial to add the camera.

Note: (1) When take the Wireless installation way to add the camera,the configuration may be fail, then please check the WiFi settingsas below:a. If the WiFi password is too long or too complicated. If so,

please change it to a simply password, such as 12345678 and then tryagain.

b. If the phone connected to the 5GHz band WiFi. VStarcamcameras supports only 2.4GHz WiFi for the moment.

c. If the camera connected to other WiFi. If so, please reset thecamera, and configure WiFi again.

（2）Search for LAN, Please make sure that the phone and thecamera share the same WiFi.

（3）Manually add UID, the UID is not case-sensitive.


6 Viewing the camera video

1. Login the APP—click the play button in the thumbnail, then you canview the video（if the camera is online）；Tap the switch button atthe bottom right to get full screen.

Note: The menu will be hidden when you slide up the screen, they will pop upwhen you slid down the screen.

7 Turn on listening and speaking

1. Login the APP→click on ‘Play’ button→find the talk and listenbutton and turn on them.（note：talk and listen can not work at thesame time）


8 Recording & Photographing

1. Login the APP→click play button→find “snapshot” and “video”button. Click the “snapshot” button, it will prompt “snapshotsuccess”. Click the “record” button, a red mark will pop up at thetop right corner of the camera’s video page, which means it isrecording.


9 Camera Connection Status&Speed

1. Login the APP→click play button→You can see the connectionspeed, network type(WiFi or mobile data), TF card status below thereal-time video.（Note: If the camera is offline, the ‘offline’ will beshown at the center of the thumbnail.）


10 Full-screen Viewing

1. Login the APP→click play button→Click the button on the bottomright of the screen to get full screen viewing.


11 Image quality adjustment

1. Login the APP→click play button→switch to full screen and click thescreen→click “STD” under full-screen mode.

2. Three grades are selectable: High, STD, Smooth. The higherquality, more network bandwidth required.


12 Preset setting&cruise

1. The preset setting is to preset a few positions that are often seen.We can click on the preset position directly to see it, no sliding isrequired. For cameras with pan/tilt function only.2. Login the APP→click play button→switch to full screen and click thescreen→click the location sign at the top right corner.

3. You can setup preset positions here. After finished the settings,click “preset cruise”, the camera would automatically patrol betweenthe specified preset positions. We can setup 5 preset positions, thecamera will stop for 10 seconds on every position and then go to thenext one.


13 Vertical&horizontal cruise

1. Login the APP→click play button→switch to full screen→click thebutton at the top right corner；

2. Then you can see Vertical&horizontal cruise button. Clicking therelated button and it will react accordingly.(It will cruise for 5 lapson every click.)


14 Four screen viewing at the same time

1. Login the APP→click the four-screen button at the top right corner,you can view four cameras at the same time（when there are extracameras, you can slide left and right on the screen to view them).


15 WiFi setting

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’.


2. Then go to ‘WiFi Setting’ ,choose your WiFi and then input the WiFipassword, click on ‘done’ to finish the wifi settings.

(Note: After clicking the ‘done’ button’, please follow the prompt tounplug the network cable. Wireless setting will be successful afterthe camera restart automatically).



16 Storage setting

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot at thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’.→click on “SDRecording”；There you can see the status of the TF card, turn offrecording or setup recording schedule, choose whether to recordsound and format SD card.


17 Password setting

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→click ‘Passwordsetting’；Follow the guide, enter the new password, click “submit”below. New password will work after the camera restart automatically.(Please pay attention to the requirements of making new password)



18 Alarm setting

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→click ‘Alarm ’


2. Then you can see ‘Alarm notification’, “Notification Type” and‘Motion Detection arming’.Notification Type. There are two notification type:client and email.Clcik them respectively to view their setup guide, please follow theguide step by step.

Android devices: IOS devices:


3. Motion Detection Alarm. When turned on, the options ofsensitivity and time schedule of the motion detection will pop up.Motion detection sensitivity. Can be set to three grades: low,middle and high. The higher, it’s easily to trigger alarm. Users canset the sensitivity based on their actual needs.4. Schedule: People can set the time schedule for motion detectionalarm.


19 Firmware update

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→click firmwareupgrade;


2. The APP will automatically detect and match the current andlatest firmware version. If it detects a new version, you can click thefirmware update button, waiting for 3 minutes, the upgrade will bedone. Please don’t power off the camera while upgrading.


20 Modify camera name

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→click the arrowon the right, as shown below；


2. You can modify the camera name in the illustrated area. Afterrevised, please return directly, APP will save the modified nameautomatically.


21 Open IR

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→go to “videoviewing”. You can close the Night Vision Mode or set the mode to auto.Note: The default night vision mode is auto. Due to the IR-cut cannot forward information to the APP in time, so the status may not beaccurate.


22 Image flip

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→go to“video viewing”. You can see “vertical mirror”, “horizontal mirror”.Horizontal is to flip left and right image.


23 Brightness&contrast adjustment

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→go to“video viewing”. Slide the dot to adjust the brightness andcontrast.


24 Light mode adjustment

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→go to“video viewing”. You will see ‘light mode’. When you place thecamera indoor, please choose indoor mode, and when you placethe camera outdoor, please choose outdoor mode.

Please note:If the screen appears striated or dimmed, try the other option.


25 Reboot the camera

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’. You can tab the‘reboot’ button to restart the camera.


26 How to zoom the C33-x4

1. Login the APP→click play button→switch to full screen mode;click the screen.


2. As the picture shown, to adjust the focus of the camera, please zoom in andout the screen by two fingers.


27 Alarm record

1. Login the APP, click Information on the bottom left of the screen；you can see motion detection alarm and arm&disarm log.Clicking on the alarm message to jump to real-time video page.


28 Delete camera

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’, click on ‘delete’and confirm it, then the camera will be removed from the APP.


29 Security center

1. Login the APP→go to ‘My’→click on Account number andSecurity；There you can see the security options of the device andAPP.


2. Weak security options will be marked red, click the options tomodify the settings.

Note: (a) Device password weak means that the password of thecamera is too simple,please change to a newpassword.

（b）Mailbox binding. If you bound the APP account to amailbox, then when you forget the APP loginpassword, you can retrieve it by the bound mailbox.

（c）Firmware upgrade. It will detect if the camera got thelatest firmware. The latest version of firmwareoptimizes the camera’s performance, strengthenssecurity and fixes some known bugs.

30 Add WiFi lamp、WiFi socket

WiFi lamp：


1. Login the APP→click “+”at the upper right corner and the ‘ScanQR Code’ page will pop up.

Note: The way of adding wifi socket is the same as the wifi bulb,please follow the steps of the two ways below.

2. To add the bulb/socket by 'Scan QR Code'. Click on the 'ScanQR Code', to scan the QR code on the bulb(or socket), the UIDwill be auto-filled in, put in the password of the bulb(or socket)and it will be added successfully.

3. To add the bulb/socket by 'Others'. Click on the ‘Others',then please follow the steps below:




NOTE: Reset the bulb/socket before configuration (the bulb's color/the socket’s indicator light will change constantly), and WiFinetwork band should be 2.4G）

31 How to use the WiFi lamp、WiFi socket?

WiFi lamp：1. Login the APP→click the three dots at the bulb’s top rightcorner→go to the bulb’s main page；

2. There are 4 buttons: switch、color、the sun、time and sleep modesetting at the upper right corner.


Note: a. Switch button: turn on and off the lamp.b. Color button: adjust the bulb color.c. The sun button: The normally used white color.d. Time button: Turn it on, the light color will constantly

change.Sleep mode: Set time value, when time is up, the lamp will

automatically turn off.

WiFi socket：1. Login the APP→click the three dots at the socket’s top rightcorner→go to the socket’s main page.


After entered, click the socket icon to switch on/ off it. Tab thetiming button at the upper right corner to set time schedule.


3. The timing settings are very simple, what you need to do is tosetup the time and date to turn on and off the socket, that’s it.


32 Modify the name of the WiFi lamp and WiFi socket

WiFi lamp：1. Login the APP→click the three dots at the bulb’s top rightcorner→go to the bulb’s main page--click on the settings buttonat the top right corner.


2. Click the arrow as shown below→modify the name ， thenclick ”confirm”.


3. The new name will display there.


The way to modify the name of WiFi socket is similar to the one forWiFi lamp. See the photos:




33 Pairing detectors and alarm cameras

1. Login the APP，select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→click‘Alarm’；


2.click ‘Add a sensor’ →choose the sensor type,（Here we take doorsensor as an example, so we choose ‘door sensor’）；Follow theinstruction to add the door sensor.


3. As shown in the below photo，after added successfully, it will bedisplay in the Sensor List.


34 Arm/disarm of the camera

1. Login the APP, you will see a sign which indicate the currentalarm mode. There are three modes: Home mode, away modeand sleep mode.

Home mode: Alarm off.Away mode: Alarm on.Sleep mode: Alarm on.


2. Tab the lock can also turn off/on the alarm.


35 Time settings of arm&disarm

1. Login the APP，select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’→click‘Alarm’；

2. Tab the ‘add schedule’ to set time and date of the alarm；Selecttime & week, then save it.


36 Settings of preset positions

1. Login the APP, select the camera→click play button→click the'Pan/tilt' icon, setup the preset positions.



2. After finish the settings，please return to the APP home page,select the camera, go to ‘Parameter settings’ -- Alarm, click thesensor added just now；

3. Select the preset position you want to point to when armed.


37 Modify the detector’s name

1. Login the APP, select the camera→go to ‘Parameter Settings’-Alarm, click the sensor,then rename it；



38 Delete the detector

1. Login the APP, select the camera→go to ‘Parameter Settings’-Alarm, click the sensor,then click on ‘delete sensor’, confirm it,done.



39 Alarm camera Doorbell on/off& Doorbell reminder

on/off

1. Login the APP→select the camera→go to ‘Parameter Settings’-Alarm, click the sensor；


2. You can turn on/off the doorbell sound and doorbell reminder.


Note:Doorbell sound: If it is turned off, the camera will not make doorbellsounds when alarm is triggered under disarm mode.Doorbell reminder: If it is turned off, there will be no alarm messagepush to the phone when alarm is triggered under disarm mode.

40 Notification push mode

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’ - Alarm, thereyou can see the ‘notification type’, tab it and you will get two types:client and email.


Android devices: IOS devices:

Note: Client notification refers to the alarm notification pushed bythe APP on phone.


E-mail notification refers to that when you bound the APP toa mailbox, once the alarm is triggered, it will send anotification to the mailbox timely.

41 Open/ close notification push

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→click ‘Parameter Settings’ - Alarm,there you can see the ‘notification type’；

2. You can click the notification type and follow the guide toenable/disable them.

42 Traffic statistics

1. Login the APP→go to ‘My’ on the bottom right→click ‘DataTraffic’； There you can see the amount of the WiFi and mobiledata traffic that the camera consume. We can also clear the dataand recompute the traffic data.


43 Thumbnail display

1. Login the APP→click on ‘My’→Settings→find ‘Camera List Mode’.There are two modes can be choose from: Thumbnail and Listmodes. Tab it to switch between the Thumbnail and List modes.

44 Online help

1. Login the APP→go to ‘My’→click ‘Online service’to get online support.


45 Eye4 version

1. Login the APP→go to ‘My’→click ‘About’ to check the version of theAPP.


46 Switch Eye4 account

1. Login the APP→go to ‘My’, click on the head portrait or the editicon on the top right corner→find “Log Out”；


2. After logged out, it will be back to the login page. Choose the wayyou want to login or login with another account.


47 Modify Eye4 login password

1. Login the APP→→go to ‘My’, click on the head portrait or the editicon on the top right corner→→find “Change Password”；

2. Follow the instruction, confirm the original password, enter a new onetwice and click "done" to confirm it. Note: Please mind the passwordrequirements at the bottom of the page.


48 SD card video player

1. After downloaded sd card video files to PC, you can use the professionaltool to play it. Download link of the player :http://www.eye4.so/download/

2. After installed，click on the icon ；Find the video folder, double-click

the file to play it.


49 Storage location of local snapshot and recording

1. The local snapshot will be stored in the file SD card/DCIM/Camera, you canfind the snapshot there.

2. The local recording will be stored in the file SD card /DCIM/Eye4, you cancheck the manually recorded video files there.

50 Playback SD card video on the phone

1. Login the APP, select the camera, click on the three dot on thecamera’s top right corner→tab the ‘SD card playback’.


2. Expand the time list, select the date, click on the file to view the videoplayback.
