Please welcome our
New Members:
Mr. & Mrs. Wilson
Thank You Members! We would like to express a heartfelt thank you to our
Hillendale family for making the One Warm Coat Drive a
SUCCESS! We filled the coat room…over 200 coats were
collected and delivered to Anna’s House, a local homeless
shelter. They were so excited to receive our delivery. We
would also like to extend a special thank you to the Junior
volunteers, parents and the HCC staff who supported our
efforts.
The Coat Drive Co-Chairs,
Erin and Liz Kelly

JANUARY THANK YOU’S!
We appreciate your business to the
following Hillendale members who
recently held a private event here at the Club.
I had an interesting discussion the other night and the timing was perfect for me to write my message for this
month. Using Hillendale Country Club has a far greater impact than you may realize. As President of the
PGA of America, I was involved with the We Are Golf Coalition and was part of developing the messages for
the importance of facilities around the country. Hillendale is one of 16,000 golf facilities around the country
and is a prime example of a small business that our country is paying a great deal of attention to. Averaging
47 employees nationally, there is no greater example of a small business.
Golf last year in our nation provided almost two million jobs and sixty billion dollars in waged income for
Americans. And that’s not just the Tigers and Phils, that is average people who take care of the course, the
servers, bartenders, bag room staff and more; everyday folks putting food on the table for their family.
In Maryland alone there are almost 200 facilities that provide roughly 15,000 jobs, with over four hundred
million dollars being paid in wage income and a total economic impact for our state of 1.3 billion dollars each
year.
Beyond that, the charitable arm is far greater than all other sports combined. Golf last year raised $3.9
BILLION dollars for charities and foundations in the US, with over 140,000 events being held. Our state was
responsible for over thirty million of that number. Here at Hillendale, we worked with Pathfinders for
Autism, American Cancer Society, Leukemia Foundation, March of Dimes and more.
So when you are making your plans for this year whether a meeting with 12 people, golf
outing for 100, banquet for 200, or prospective members – please keep Hillendale, your
club, in the front of your mind. Give me a call to see what we can schedule at
410-592-8011 ext 230. Besides being one of the best facilities in the country (and I have
been to quite a few in my travels!) it will have a greater impact than you may realize.

Meet the Pro & Putt with Jason Johnson. A great way to introduce your child into the family sport of golf.
