Shelby Rhodes District Governor 2021-22 Shelby Rhodes was born and spent her early years in Pittsburgh, PA before moving to New Jersey in 1985. A graduate of Lenape Valley Regional High School in Stanhope, Shelby earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN and a Master of Business Administration from Centenary College in Hackettstown. Shelby joined the Rotary Club of The Skylands (formerly Netcong-Stanhope) when she wanted to become more involved in the local community. Shelby served three consecutive terms as Club President and has chaired the Club’s Annual Golf Outing numerous times. It was the Golf Outing that attracted her husband Mark to join Rotary. Together, the couple graduated the Rotary Leadership Institute in 2017 and became Rotary Leadership Institute faculty members just one year later. “Rotary Leadership Institute turns ordinary Club members to engaged Rotarians,” Shelby often reminds everyone she meets. A Paul Harris Fellow, Shelby is a member of the Paul Harris Society and is a Rotary Foundation Benefactor. In 2017, Shelby and Mark joined the ranks of the Arch Klumph Society (AKS) flying to Rotary International Headquarters in Evanston, IL to be formally inducted in the fall of 2018 into the Arch Klumph Society. Shelby is looking forward to serving as Rotarty District Governor for District 7475 starting in July of 2021. District 7475 encompasses a large section of NJ touching 9 counties, having over 80 clubs and over 2000 members. Shelby was appointed in 2017 by the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholder to serve on the Women’s Advisory Committee. She’s also an active member of the Chester Lioness Club and serves on the Board of the Park Avenue Foundation where she also Chaired the Foundation’s 2016 Gala.
