Shawnee Park Visitor Platform

The Shawnee Park VIsitor Platform is a location within the hiking trail that informs visitors of the Native American histories, bird migration routes, and natural floodlands of the park and surrounding lands. The idea was to use landscape elements that bloom at different times to have one dominant color in different seasons corresponding to the traditions of the Shawnee tribes. The concept of the site development is that panels have pushed the earth back to clear a flat, walkable, manicured space for visitors to rest, picnic, or escape the sun.
