We serve the City and County of Dallas, TX. • Emergency shelter to permanent housing • Vocational and employment counseling and coaching • Access to higher educational opportunities SHARED HOUSING CENTER Shared Housing Center offers housing stability with supportive services, focusing on economic independence, vocational advancement and academic achievement. We serve non-traditional families and individuals, including women with children, grandparents raising grandchildren and returning female veterans. ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT • Provided housing and housing services to more than 25,000 families and individuals (more than 250 annually) since 1984 • Achieved less than 5% recidivism to homelessness through long-term support and relationships with alumni families for over three decades • Supported more than 50 high school grads since 2010 to attend college and vocational training through scholarships and internships SHARED HOUSING CENTER & THE RACIAL WEALTH DIVIDE STRATEGY 1 Establish partnerships for obtaining affordable housing and a sense of community STRATEGY 2 Assist veteran, single-parent and grand-families to improve parenting and life skills and reestablish family unity STRATEGY 3 Create wealth and economic independence through asset-building and career stability STRATEGY 4 Prepare youth and adults for self-sufficiency through educational opportunities and advancement Shared Housing provides affordable housing and a safe and supportive community as a foundation upon which families, careers and education can develop and grow into wealth.
