ShARE is an international students non-profit think-tank set-up in Shanghai, in 2002 . Now present in more than15 countries and over 30 top universities , ShARE connects talented students to corporate and social leaders todiscuss world economic and social issues through presentations, projects, conferences and debates. Our long-termgoal is to generate, share and use knowledge to contribute to regions human, social and economic development .

ShARE organized its 7th World Seminar in Bangalore , in December, under the motto Emerging Globally . Over100 students from India, China, Indonesia, Switzerland and Portugal participated in this gathering.

The Seminar focused on the tremendous impact of globalization in our society. We are now moving on from aglobal crisis that has shown the effects of this phenomenon. But are we indeed moving towards a more global

world, are we emerging globally ? Or are we becoming an archipelago world ?

While some boundaries between countries, people and culture have decreased, others seem to be growing, widening the existing gaps. What will be the effects of these dynamics in our lives? India and China are the leadingemerging economies, but lately we have been seeing a spectacular rise of some advanced emerging players.Indonesia, Turkey, Mexico, Nigeria, South Korea would be some examples.

These new rapidly emerging economies will have a key role in the next decades. How will the most developedeconomies respond to that? Will India and China have to struggle to keep their leading positions as emergingmarkets? How will these countries culture evolve?

The seminar spanned across 3 days. Experts and participants shared ideas on pressing issues concerning Energy,Social business and Finance. We explored the answers to the topic on these socioeconomic issues in order to betterunderstand its complexities and trying to raise a new light, one that improves our perspective of the issue at hand.

the members could also share their experiences about the event in the online member access.. Here we compile some of those twitts and testimonials. ShARE World Seminar 2011

Prof. Trilochan Sastry is giving an excellent talk on the BOP: 'People like you and me, sitting in A/Crooms, can't change the country. We need to connect to the different worlds in order tounderstand poverty. Get out of your comfort zone.'

Mr. Ramakrishna NK, founder and CEO of Rang De, just finished his talk about the non-profit peer topeer platform he founded 3 years ago. Check out his revenue model on www.rangde.org which hasrevolutionized the sector.

This morning's talks were excellent. Mr. Karthik Shashidhar and Prof. R. Vaidyanathan focused onthe current economic crisis. It's Anglo-Saxon, not Global, it was said. And the root of it is theeconomic shift to Asia.

The audience is getting pretty pumped up and inspired by Mr. Majumdar's inspiring lectureon Entrepreneurship. Didn't know there were such a lot of other young entrepreneurs inShARE!

Yasin is now giving a presentation on what the development team has done over the last year. New teamswere created in IIT-Bombay, University of So Paulo, Makerere University, in Uganda, IIM Lucknow and IITKharagpur. Congrats to the Development Pole e for such a good job. ShARE World Seminar 2011

ShARE World Seminar 2011, Bangalore: Just back for a great world seminar organized by the IIM-B

team! This was my second World Seminar and I must say that its a great feeling to attend them. The Events, competitions and lectures were very well organized, greatly executed and, above all,the beauty of the campus of IIM-B was truly mesmerizing. Thanks to organizing Team for taking theSeminar to the level of perfection.

A great seminar to facilitate knowledge sharing at a global level. While events like Ice-breakerhelped participants to gel along with other team members coming from various nations andcultures, other Events like The Right Decision and War of Words helped them to indulge themselvesin serious knowledge sharing. Talks from various industry experts and professors gave the bird's eyeview of issues and events happening in various sectors as also seen in the feedbacks given by theparticipants. Hoping for another great seminar the coming year!

This morning I woke up dreaming about another exciting World Seminar Day ahead of me until irealized it was all over ! Saudades!

The world seminar was very informative. I personally liked the talk on smart cities by the personfrom CISCO. It was an ideal platform to socialize with people from different chapters and shareknowledge. I would want to thank the IIM-B team for the hospitality and would want tocongratulate them on the success of the world seminar.

Was great to be a part of the seminar. Especially liked the talks by Prof. Trilochan Sastry and by Prof Vaidyanathan. Would have liked more foreign participation. Hats off to the IIM-B team for the efforts.

The World seminar at IIMB was a great experience. It was so well organised. The quality of the events, be itthe lectures or the competitions, was commendable. Truly, IIMB team has set a very high benchmark forthe World seminars to come in future.

The first World Seminar I have attended. Simply put: awesome! And all the other adjectives you can thinkof! The intermix of culture and people, not only from various countries, but also from various Indian ShAREteams was remarkable. (And the Indonesian Dance). The organizing of various events, talks, accommodation, food to such quality is commendable. Thanks IIM Bangalore for everything! It truly was

the experience of a lifetime.:) Happy new year everyone!

ShARE world seminar was simply the best seminar I've ever been to. Lectures organized were veryscintillating and informative. The events worked out by the IIMB team were good team builders. Theenvironment was really picturesque. Simply put, this was the best way to end a year.

I couldn't attend this World Seminar but I only heard very positive feedback from this event. I had the greatchance to attend the very first ShARE World Seminar in Shanghai in December 2005 and it was an incredibleexperience. Since then, ShARE didn't stop getting more and more professional and it's fantastic to see moreand more brilliant members joining our organization from all parts of the world. Seminars are an incredibleopportunity to meet the people with whom we spent the whole year working on projects!

Even though I was not able to attend this seminar, looking at the feedback, it takes me back to the two WorldSeminar I attended in Delhi and Paris. While the seminars presented a great opportunity to increase ourknowledge, it also provided us with a chance to bond with our fellow ShARE members. I hope you guys musthave enjoyed the seminar, and increased your network of friends from different parts of the world!

I just come back to Hang Zhou, thank you for your help during global seminar. Look forward to yourphoto sharing! Hope to see you next year :)

The ShARE World Seminar was one unique experience that I will never be able to forget. It has given me, as a

person, an exposure that requires skills ranging from meticulous planning to absolute crisis management. For the

team here at IIM Bangalore, it was one hell of an experience to get well as a team and keep the fire burning, right

till the end. To the ShARE Community, the World Seminar has given a chance to mix up and interact with a bunch

of bright and wonderful people. Of course, it has been a superb platform for sharing knowledge and ideas. The

events have given the participants a perspective about developing alternate solutions to pressing issues, solving

multiple scenario based problems and debating about issues relevant to society. Many thanks to all the speakers

for some eye opening talks and discussions! Hearty congratulations to the ShARE IIMB team for your persistence

and spirit! Just love you all! My great wishes to all the 100 odd participants, who made this event a livewire that

nobody can forget and my apologies pushing you a bit too much at times. Signing off.
