Dear Friends,
1. Back in the days I studied in Rome (1986-91), we used to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi each year in grand style – with thousands of people walking along with Pope St. John Paul II carrying the monstrance with the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of the holy city. A big and public display of our Catholic Faith and the most central mystery of that Faith – that Jesus Christ is present in the Blessed Sacrament and he remains with us in our journey through life. In all the ups and downs and triumphs and tragedies we face, we are never alone, because he accompanies us. “I will not leave you orphans; I will @'=+]
It is that faith in the Eucharist that makes Catholicism nearly unique in Christianity. And it is the heart of our Catholic faith, perhaps the most important thing we believe – that when we receive Holy Communion, we receive the very Body and Blood of Jesus, that he remains behind with us in every tabernacle and is truly present in our Churches. This is how our good God makes his dwelling among us.
So today we replicate that procession in our own streets to honor Our Lord. Join us today at 3:45 pm across from the Brewster train station and we will process to the Church where we will pray and have Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. We won’t have a pope, and maybe not thousands of Catholics, but we will have the same Jesus Christ in our midst!
We will give a witness of our faith in public because it is so precious to us and we cherish this great gift of God in our lives.
2. Also, I want to thank everyone who has contributed so far to the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal. This is the appeal the Cardinal uses to help poorer parishes and support the seminary as well. We are getting close to our goal (86%) and we have reached it seven years straight and I’m sure we will extend our streak. If you haven’t yet given, go to cardinalsappeal.org or pick up an envelope in the rear of the church.
3. Summer camp for kids at St. Lawrence will be out of this world this year… so check it out online or for information on registration go to stlawrenceotoole.org/Summer19_Camps– don’t miss out.
God bless,
Fr. Richard Gill

It is important for everyone to have a will in order to insure your assets are directed according to your intentions and that every-thing is clear when you go back to God. Many people distribute what they have among loved ones and also generously leave a portion of their assets to the parish.
You can leave a gift to build up the future of your parish (St. Law-rence or Sacred Heart) with a bequest in your will. Some people leave a percentage such as 10% of their estate to the church, and
Previous generations of Catholics built up the church we inherited... leave your legacy for the Catholics to come after us.
