Thanks to newly estab- lished funds, such as the He- bert Memorial Scholarship, which awarded 53 $3,000 scholarships at the ceremony, the dollar amount of scholar- ships doubled from last year. The event took place at Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw Township. Rudy Pett, a past scholarship recipi- ent, was the guest speaker. Pett graduated from Valley Luther- an High School in 2007 and recently earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Richmond.
