The Seven MostCommonHydraulic EquipmentMistakes

Changing the oilChange oil when the conditions of the oil dictate, not simply because of time since the last change. Don’t dump good oil unecessarily.

Changing the filtersAAgain, change them when they need to be changed, not just based on a schedule. Too early, and you’re wasting money, too late and you risk damaging your equipment.

Running too hotLLike an engine, a hydraulic system can get too hot and this can cause damage to seals and hose compounds.

Using the wrong oilTThe oil is the most important component of the system. It’s the lubricant as well as the main mode of power transfer. Get the right oil for the equipment and the job.

Wrong filter locationsDDon’t just put filters anywhere, putting them in the wrong place can do more harm than good.

Believing hydraulic components are self-priming and self-lubricatingYYou know the guy who’s car is never serviced? Does it run forever? No. Neither will your hydraulic equipment.

Not getting an education in hydraulicsIf If you don’t understand hydraulics, at least the basics, you could lose a lot of money to equipment damage. Learn your trade, it’ll save you money in the long run!
