Did you know that you can rearrange the letters in the word “February” to spell “bury fear?” It’s time to bury your fears and set forth to achieve your goals. Set Your Focus: What goals will you set for February? It’s tempting set a goal like “I will lose a bunch of weight and never miss a workout,” but doing too much too fast can lead to burnout or even injury. Instead, focus on a single aspect of one of your larger goals. For example, if you want to lose weight, the two keys are diet and exercise. Perhaps you want to start by reducing your saturated fat intake, or increasing your vegetable intake. Or you can talk with your doctor about setting a reasonable exercise schedule, and then set a goal related to that. Since February is Heart Month, now’s a great time to pick a goal that will improve your heart health. This February, I am going to focus on (circle one)... Go for a 30-minute walk during your lunch break or after work. Jump rope during the commercial breaks in your favorite tv show. Try a new workout class. Now it’s time to set your goals! What goals will you set for February? It’s tempting set a goal like “I will lose a bunch of weight and never miss a workout,” but doing too much too fast can lead to burnout or even injury. Instead, focus on a single aspect of one of your larger goals.
