WELCOME We gather today to receive God’s gifts and to praise His holy name. We welcome all guests and members to this service of the Word. Please sign the friendship register located at the end of your pew. If you are visiting with us today, we encourage you to introduce yourself to Rev. Rockhoff or Rev. Gorte. As you prepare for the service today, please note:
Hearing aids and large print bulletins are available. Please ask an usher.
Restrooms are located to the left and right of the main aisle double doors. Should you need it, there is a changing table in the women’s restroom. There is also a parent’s room and a second changing table located downstairs.
Since this time is set apart as holy to the Lord, please turn your phone off.
Holy Communion is celebrated in Sunday’s liturgy. Our congregation is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), a family of congregations who pledge themselves to teach and believe and live according to the Holy Scriptures. Christ’s love is our calling and in His Word God gives us a great responsibility to commune only those persons who are members of our confessional fellowship. We want to express our sincere welcome to our guests and assure them that for their spiritual welfare we practice closed communion. Guests desiring to learn more about our beliefs or any teaching of the Bible are asked to speak with one of our pastors. Peace be with you!

The 2016 Flower & Bulletin Sponsor sign-up sheets are in the narthex. You can sponsor the Altar Flowers or Bulletin for any Sunday worship. The cost is still only $30, one sponsor per weekend. WELS TOGETHER: Go to WELS.net and signup to have the latest WELS news delivered to your inbox twice every month. Offering Envelopes: Please pick up your 2016 Offering Envelopes, which are available in the narthex. This year we reduced the number of boxes of envelopes we ordered as use of offering envelopes by some members and our high school and college age student members is low. If you did not receive envelopes, but would like them, please let the office know. Generic envelopes will always be made available in the narthex for use as well. "Thanks!" On behalf of the staff here at Friedens, many thanks to one and all for the cards and gifts and Christmas well wishes that we have received. We are truly thankful and blessed to serve you here at Friedens Lutheran Church and School! God's blessings to one and all in the new year. In the Future .... The leadership of Friedens welcomes comments, criticisms and concerns when you have them. In order to answer them, it is important and necessary for you to identify yourself no matter how you voice them. If we do not know who is sending the communications, we cannot answer them and in the process continue to serve you, God's people, to the best of our abilities. Many thanks! BOX TOPS & LABELS are collected year round. If you are dropping off for a specific class please put in an envelope or bag marked with the classroom grade on it. The 2
nd Quarter
ends soon and the count will be done at that time. The classroom that collects the most receives a prize and the honor of “Frieda” in their classroom for the 3
rd Quarter. The box
top and labels collections help Friedens School with the purchase of school and sports supplies – Go Friedens!!

Dear Friedens Lutheran ECDP Families, I’d like to welcome you to a new year at Friedens. Thank you for your patience during the changes we have had during 2015. I would like to introduce two of our new employees… Jason Buchholz, a member of Friedens, is our new 3K teacher. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and has completed the Child Development Associate Credential course. Pauline Morales will work with Jason in the 3’s & 4’s room. Lexi, our current 2’s teacher will be leaving us as of January 15. She is focusing more on her studies at UW Parkside. I will be in the 2’s room until we find a new teacher. Stacey Pfeiffer has accepted a position in the medical field which will allow her to be home with her family most afternoons and evenings. She will stay on as a substitute. If you know of someone that loves working with children please give them my information. Thank you. God’s Blessing on our new year! In Christ’s Service, Mrs. Lisa Finn [email protected] 262-657-5758
