AME F can be defined as the state of being known or recognised by many people because of one's achievements, skills, talents, etc. It can also mean to be of good repute, in favour, well regarded or highly esteemed in life. It is good to be famous in what one does as this will increase one's recognition in their chosen field; make one to be easily accepted everywhere; make people to give heed to what one has to say; make one to have easy followership; increase the influence or impact one possesses over their area of operation and also bring honour to one's mentor. Interestingly, God wants His children's fame to spread. Jesus taught His disciples and even the multitude to have the mentality of been famous and renown for good (as salt and light), so that the world will know about their Father who is in Heaven and as such will be able to give the glory due to His name (Mathew 5:13-16). It wasn't surprising therefore that Jesus fame did spread in His lifetime. The teachings and the deeds of Jesus made His fame to spread quickly throughout His country, so that He was able to make great impact in just 3 1/2 years of ministry! (Mark 1:21-28; Luke 4:14-15). Many people thus believed that He came from God and gave due glory to God - His Father. A very powerful and practical way of evangelising for God is for the fame of we His children to spread. The extent of the coverage of our fame will directly aid the extent of the knowledge of God. So from this month of February and beyond, God wants our fame to spread throughout our region. He wants us to rely on His Spirit to help us and He wants us to make ourselves more 'visible in good deeds and words' where we are. May God increase our recognition as individuals and as a body in Jesus name. ANY M times God makes promises years before He intends for them to happen. For example, Jesus coming was promised by God as far back as the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:15) and subsequently by the Prophets (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7; Micah 5:2; etc.). The annunciation proper was later made to Mary by Angel Gabriel when God was ready to fulfil His plan (Lk. 1:26-38). As we were rounding up 2015, God began to tell me what He will do for us in 2016. Some of the things He said: FOR INDIVIDUALS 1 Some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year. 2. Some will receive help from unexpected sources. 3. Grateful hearts will have more causes to be grateful 4. For many, the pendulum of life will generally be on the upward swing 5. A chosen few will receive blessings so large they can hardly contain them FOR NIGERIA 1. Things are likely to get tougher, before they get better, but things will definitely get better before the year ends. 2. What He started last year, He will finish this year, provided we don’t rejoice too soon. INTERNATIONAL 1. Natural disasters, floods, fires, earthquakes, are likely to get progressively worse, until governments realize that these are part of divine judgement against those who have passed unholy laws. If governments will repent of disdaining Christ and His church, He will help them win the fight against terrorism. 2. A major war will be averted this year 3. A new sexually transmitted diseases will surface. However, God has created all of us with unique gifts, talents or endowments; it is therefore possible to stand out in life, if one uses their talent(s) efficiently and effectively. Just like the parable of the talents, two of them utilized what was given to them to the optimum and were rewarded excellently. The last one refused to use his own talent, and was severely punished. God has not created anyone empty. There is something unique God has deposited in every human being, whether a believer or not. It is the duty of man to find out what that unique ability is and be the best in it. In life, two extremes always stand out and only few occupy them. These are the best and the worst. Most people occupy the middle - the good category. However, those who are good might be so many to the extent that good may actually not be that good. The better place to be is to be among the best. Jesus did His best in ministry. He was a Prophet extraordinary (knew Simon & Nathaniel); a Teacher unrivalled (corresponding parables); an Apostle without equal (places he would later go) Lk. 10:1; an amazing Pastor (shepherd to a thief (alabaster) and very selfish and temperamental people); and a marvelous evangelist (well of Sychar). The Jews could testify that He was the best they have ever had as a Scribe, yet He never went to a Seminary School. Mark 1:21-22 And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. Why? Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. By Pastor Samuel OBAFAIYE Be The Best In Whatever You Do For mercies, countless as the sands, Which daily I receive From Jesus, my Redeemer's hands, My soul what canst thou give? Alas! from such a heart as mine, What can I bring him forth? My best is stained and dyed with sin, My all is nothing worth. Yet this acknowledgment I'll make For all he has bestowed; Salvation's sacred cup I'll take And call upon my God. The best returns for one like me, So wretched and so poor; Is from his gifts to draw a plea, And ask him still for more. I cannot serve him as I ought, No works have I to boast; Yet would I glory in the thought That I shall owe him most.
