After this the Lord appointed seventy-

two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every townand place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the

laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvestto send laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sendingyou out as lambs in the midst of wolves….”
“Carry no moneybag, no knapsack,
Luke 10:4-6
no sandals, and greet no one on theroad. Whatever house you enter say,‘Peace be to this house!’ And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest on him. But if not, it will return to you….
“I know men; and I tell you that Jesus Christ is no mere
man. Between Him and every other person in the world there is no possible
term of comparison.... Jesus Christ founded His empire upon love; and at this hour millions of men
would die for Him.”
~ Napoleon Bonaparte 1769-1821

is to conquer by forgiveness.”

“And remain in the same house, eat-

ing and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before
“…you. Heal the sick in it and say to
Luke 10:8
them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’”
“But whenever you enter a town and
Luke 10:10-11
they do not receive you, go into itsstreets and say, ‘Even the dust ofyour town that clings to our feet wewipe off against you. Neverthelessknow this, that the kingdom of God
“…has come near.’ I tell you, it
Luke 10:11-13
will be more bearable on that dayfor Sodom than for that town. “Woeto you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Beth-saida! For if the mighty works donein you had been done in Tyre and
“…Sidon, they would have repented

long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. But it will be more bearablein the judgment for Tyre and Sidonthan for you. And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? Youshall be brought down to Hades.”
“…it is appointed for man to die once, and
after that comes judgment.”
~ Hebrews 9:27

apart from God on a trajectory into infinity.”

those who say ‘Thy will be done’ to God, or those to whom God in the end says,
‘Thy will be done.’” ~ CS Lewis, Professor Oxford University

1
I once was lost in darkest night Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first I would refuse You still
But as I ran my hell-bound race Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me Now all I know is grace
Pray to the Lord of the Harvest

“But how are they to call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are
they to believe in him of whom they have never
heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are
they to preach unless they are sent?”
~ The Apostle Paul in Romans 10:13-15
