Overall Project Scope • KUB and its contractors will replace older wastewater pipes in Sequoyah Hills • Wastewater pipes replaced about 20 years ago when the stormwater and wastewater systems were separated are still within their useful lifespan and do not need to be replaced as part of this project • Overall project will be completed in three phases • 18 miles of wastewater pipe to be rehabilitated overall in Sequoyah Hills - Phase 1 - Five miles (fall 2017 through early spring 2019) - Phase 2 - Seven miles (March 2019 through March 2020) - Phase 3 - Six miles (Following Phase 2 and lasting approximately one year) • Final paving to be done by fall 2021 Project Details for Phase 2 • General sequence of construction: - Mobilize crews and equipment - Pre-construction inspections - Construction methods • Open cut excavation and replacement (approx. 2,300 linear feet) • Cured-in-place lining of existing pipe (approx. 13, 500 linear feet) • Pipe bursting existing pipe (approx. 17,500 linear feet) • Manhole Replacements: 148 - Test rehabilitated wastewater main - Connect customer service laterals (405 total for Phase 2) - Right-of-way restoration and stabilization • Temporary lane closures may be required in the immediate work areas to facilitate safe access for workers, equipment, and vehicles • Lanes will reopen to traffic outside of the listed work hours as conditions allow • Sequoyah Greenway closures will also be required from time-to-time to facilitate work along Cherokee Boulevard • A portion of this project will also occur inside Sequoyah Park • Sequoyah Park will remain open at all times • All work in the park and/or requiring lane, road, or greenway closures will be coordinated with special events and appropriate agencies and communicated in advance • Property restoration - Temporary restoration with straw matting or seed and straw - Final clean-up and restoration will occur once all work is completed in the area Project Schedule for Phase 2 • February 2019: Pre-construction inspection work and mobilization • Early March 2019 : Construction begins; 12 month project (weather permitting) • Construction Schedule: Generally Monday-Friday during daylight hours • Work schedules adjusted for major events and holidays Project Communications KUB Major Construction Projects Blog — Includes weekly updates on utility traffic control and utility construction progress • Blog Link To access the blog, scan the code to the left or type http:// kubmajorprojects.blogspot.com/ in your web browser Send your e-mail address to [email protected] to receive weekly updates (reference Sequoyah Hills area) Project hotline 558-2331 – After normal business hours • Updates posted on www.kub.org (Special Projects Page) Social Media — Updates posted on Facebook, Nextdoor, and Twitter Online Construction Projects Map For more information on this and other KUB construction projects, scan the code at the left or type https:// www.kub. org/about/community/construction-map/ in your browser to visit KUB’s Online Construction Projects Map KUB Project Contacts Tim Cox Customer Support Office: 558-2947 Cell: 313-3777 Weekdays, 7 a.m.–4 p.m. Tom England Customer Support Office: 558-2177 Cell: 640-3157 Weekdays, 7 a.m.–4 p.m. After Hours/Weekends Main KUB Phone Number: 524-2911 Customer Support Hotline: 558-2331 (Leave recorded mes- sage.
