A Unique ID is required for both Student and Staff in order to load information into the Operational Data Store (ODS).

SSN or S-Number could not be used because those numbers can change for an individual person.

PID could not be used because that is a confidential number used internally by TEA.

Local ID Numbers could not be used because those numbers change for an individual person.

The District will send a file to TEA of all active and withdrawn students for this school year at the time of enrollment.

The Student and Staff State Unique-ID will be linked to the PID database.

The District will upload a student and a staff file of all active and withdrawn students for this school year.

The file(s) will include all students/staff from the LEA source systems that were active/withdrawn in the 2012-2013 school year.

The file will be processed in the TSDS Unique ID System.
