Communication – We will use this newsletter, the church web site, and Firstnews e-mails as regular forms of communication related to changes that will occur in our normal routines due to construction. Most noticeable will be traffic patterns and parking places. We will try to give good information about what you can expect. Flexibility – It will be difficult to cover every detail in the communication that I mentioned above. At some point in the next year we will all be inconvenienced by the building work. That is to be expected. Stay flexible . . . keep smiling . . . and let’s make the best of the situation. Programming --- With the work being done to the Christian Life Center, it is obvious that most of the programs that were located in that building will no longer be happening. However, some events have already been moved into the rest of the building for the duration of construction. If you have any questions about what continues and what programs will need to be put on hold, please call the church office. Schedule – Construction should take about 13.5 months. Some time will be needed after construction to get the new building furnished and ready. Then, additional time will be needed to adapt the existing buildings for new classes that will move when the new building is completed. For example, when the Student Ministry moves into new space and First Fellowship worship moves into a new area, a considerable amount of classroom space becomes available that we have not had before. This will allow us to move classes around to accommodate the needs of each group. It will also enable us to begin new units that are needed for our growth. The schedule of how all of this unfolds will be communicated clearly as the new building is being constructed. I am most grateful to the Building Committee and Debbie Bell who will be working closely with the architects and contractor as we move forward. I know that they will do an excellent job representing the church on this project. They will also be the ones to keep us informed about what is happening with the work. Stained Glass Windows of 'Old' Church Sought

The Huntsville Public Library, Heritage Dept., is preparing to publish a book picturing stained glass from Old Huntsville. They want to include some of the 60 or more beautiful windows from the "old" FBC at Clinton and Gallatin (Church), which was demolished in the mid 1960s. Those windows were sold to many Huntsvillians, some to FBC members. The library need to learn of their locations, and will ask the current owners for permission to photograph these memorable objects of art. If you know know of the present location of any of these windows, please notify Joe Jones, church historian, at [email protected], or 256-655-6030.

The ground is now broken – construction has begun on our new facilities. Let me suggest the following as we move forward with this building program.
