We are Safe We are Respectful We are Focused ELERMORE ENDEAVOUR Term 3 Week 8 14 th September 2018 Dear Parents and Carers, Thank you to all of the parents and carers who have already completed the Tell Them From Me Parent Survey. Mrs Williams and Mr Boatfield have worked hard to plan and deliver this survey and I thank them for their efforts. The results of this survey will help us to improve aspects of our service delivery and they will be instrumental in helping us move ahead with our strategic directions; 1. Excellence, 2. Equity and Engagement and 3. Innovation. If you have not completed the survey yet, please click on the link below and follow the directions. The more input we have from our parents and carers, the better. https://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/evpsparentsurvey Our Year 6 debating team made it to the finals of the Premier’s Debating Competition. I am so proud of these students and I know that Mr Boyd feels exactly the same way. Today their debate was about the topic “Children should be paid when their work improves’. Our team was affirmative. Despite their best efforts, our team was pipped at the post by Raymond Terrace Public School. Unfortunately, our team will not progress further in the competition. I would like to thank our wonderful debating team and Mr Boyd for their hard work and enthusiasm and congratulate them on reaching the finals. Preparations are underway for class planning for 2019. If you know of someone who is wanting to enrol their child/ren at our school, could you please encourage them to contact our friendly administration staff for an information pack. Similarly, if you no longer require a position at our school for 2019, please advise our administration staff. All non local enrolements will be reviewed early in Term 4 by our Non Local Placement Panel. Positions for non local enrolements are very limited as our school continues to grow in number. We have a very busy couple of weeks ahead as we wrap up Term 3. Scope IT will continue and our students in Stage 2 & 3 will participate in a gymnastics program. Our canteen refurbishment will commence on Monday 24/9/18 and we will finally be able to fly the Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags as early as this coming Monday! I must thank MP Sharron Claydon for supplying our school with the three new flags for our three new flagpoles. Term 3 will end in the most spectacular way – a day time disco and Pizza lunch, hosted by our wonderful P&C. I hope we fit in some teaching and learning time over the next 2 weeks!
