Weitzman To my Brother Knights and their Families, Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism - these words are the foundation of our order. They say so much about who we are. We, as Knights, have made these words come alive in our actions. We are committed to do CHARITABLE acts for all in need. We are UNITED in our faith as Catholics to live our lives as disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as written in the Gospel. Because we are FRATERNAL in our beliefs and works, we improve the quality of life for mankind and due to our PATRIOTISM, we pledge allegiance to the Republic of the United States of America, ONE NATION UNDER GOD. We take on these responsibilities without hesitation. The first two months of this Columbian year have been very busy for my brother Knights of New York State. We had our Pilgrimages to The Shrine of Saint Anne at the Isle LaMotte and The Basilica of the National Shrine Our Lady of Fatima in Lewistown. We also held a fundraiser for The New York Archdiocese Inner City Scholarship Fund at Yankee Stadium. There were almost 800 Knights and their families present to support this wonderful cause and enjoy a Yankee win! Our New York State delegation was present at the 133rd Supreme Convention to listen to our Supreme Knight Carl Anderson and our Spiritual Leaders speak about our Order and the good, or should I say GREAT, works we do. Present at the convention were our Spiritual Leaders, our Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and of course our brother Knights and their wives. We had representatives from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Canada, Panama, Mexico, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Bahamas, Virgin Island, the Philippines and other countries throughout the world. The message we received was inspirational and inspiring! We have been asked by our Supreme Knight to celebrate the family and to bring the joy of the gospel into our homes. For more information on the 133rd Supreme Convention please visit www.KofC.org. I would like to thank my brother Knights from the Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Western, Finger Lakes, and Westchester / Putnam Conferences for their hospitality to our Training Team and myself. The New York State Training Team includes our Training Director Sal Restivo, (PSD), our C&B Director Tony Ippolitto, the Warden to the State Deputy Tom Boslet, and from Supreme, our MPC Eric Johnson (PSD - Pennsylvania) and MPC Tom Ciborski ( PSD - New Jersey). Your presence at these training seminars and your commitment to our order is very inspiring to all of us. The team looks forward to visiting the rest of our Conferences to prepare the officers of today and the future to assume their responsibility of leadership. We must continue to be committed to our Church. We must continue to be committed to our community. We must be committed to the growth of our Order. We must be committed to the vision of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney and we must be committed to the principles of our order - Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. We all play an intricate role in determining the future of our civilization for future generations. As we move forward in this Columbian year, we are getting ready for our C&B Early Bird Drawing which is being held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Our Lady of the Rosary in Deer Park. We are looking for big numbers so be sure to get your books in! Again, I tell you that we are the most important lay Catholic fraternity in the world and we will continue to build our Order so we can secure a future for our children filled with Faith, Love and Hope. Yes, our yoke is heavy but our faith is strong and we will continue to move forward to build a better world one Knight, one Council at a time. God Bless You and Your Families Vivat Jesu! Sincerely, Bob Weitzman, State Deputy

A Message From Your State Deputy, Robert D. Weitzman To my Brother Knights and their Families,
Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism - these words are the foundation of our order. They say so much about who we are.
We, as Knights, have made these words come alive in our actions. We are committed to do CHARITABLE acts for all in need. We are
UNITED in our faith as Catholics to live our lives as disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as written in the Gospel. Because
we are FRATERNAL in our beliefs and works, we improve the quality of life for mankind and due to our PATRIOTISM, we pledge
allegiance to the Republic of the United States of America, ONE NATION UNDER GOD. We take on these responsibilities without
hesitation.
The first two months of this Columbian year have been very busy for my brother Knights of New York State. We had our
Pilgrimages to The Shrine of Saint Anne at the Isle LaMotte and The Basilica of the National Shrine Our Lady of Fatima in Lewistown.
We also held a fundraiser for The New York Archdiocese Inner City Scholarship Fund at Yankee Stadium. There were almost 800
Knights and their families present to support this wonderful cause and enjoy a Yankee win!
Our New York State delegation was present at the 133rd Supreme Convention to listen to our Supreme Knight Carl Anderson
and our Spiritual Leaders speak about our Order and the good, or should I say GREAT, works we do. Present at the convention were our
Spiritual Leaders, our Cardinals, Bishops, Priests and of course our brother Knights and their wives. We had representatives from all 50
states, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Canada, Panama, Mexico, Poland, Ukraine, Lithuania, Bahamas, Virgin Island, the Philippines
and other countries throughout the world. The message we received was inspirational and inspiring! We have been asked by our
Supreme Knight to celebrate the family and to bring the joy of the gospel into our homes. For more information on the 133rd Supreme
Convention please visit www.KofC.org.

As we move forward in this Columbian year, we are getting ready for our C&B Early Bird
Drawing which is being held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Our Lady of the Rosary in Deer Park. We

Yes, our yoke is heavy but our faith is strong and we will continue to move forward to build a
better world one Knight, one Council at a time.

Prayer for the Canonization of Father Michael J. McGivney God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest,
Father Michael J. McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the
generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue may we follow your Son,
Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the
Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may
continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify your servant Father Michael
J. McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now
present (make your request here). Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be to the Father.

A Message from our Senior Associate State Chaplain,
Fr. Brian McWeeney... My Brothers and Sisters in Columbianism,
At this writing we are awaiting the visit of the Holy Father to our shores. While I have no
inside track as to what topics he will cover in his presentations, I am sure he will preach about the
same areas of concern that he has previously addressed. He will call on us to encounter Christ and
witness to him in our care for creation, especially its most vulnerable elements. He will include in
that theme the necessity of recognizing the dignity of human life, whether in the womb or in those
we see among us who are sick, poor, and homeless. Mindful of the World Meetings of Families, he
will challenge all of us to exemplify and support the Sacrament of Marriage, especially when it is
challenged either by societal pressures or personal crises. As Knights, we will be especially attentive
to his words about immigration, mindful that our Order was founded, in part, in response to Father
McGivney's concern for all who were coming to America and not welcomed by nativists. Some
whom we find among us even today.
I must admit to some concern as to how the Holy Father Has been perceived by some
activists, even Catholic ones, and unfortunately, even some self-identified Knights. Our Holy Father
is our shepherd who our Supreme Knight has stated, unequivocally, is all that we can hope for and is
truly a blessing for our Church. He is not a politician of the right or left. He is not a spokesperson for
any particular special interest. He is Catholic in all his
pronouncements. He is our teacher of the Church's wisdom.
He is the Vicar of Christ giving comfort to all who await the
Lord's return. He is our priest praying for us, strengthening us,
and calling us to holiness.
Viva il Papa! Vivat Jesus!
