RUN FOR GOD Do you know someone who is participating in our Run for God class? Be an encouragement to them! We are just about at the halfway mark of our training and this is when schedules get busy, bodies get tired, injuries pop up, goals seem unattainable, and discouragement sets in. Encourage your friends who are training to be diligent, to press on, and keep their goals in mind! Even if you don’t personally know anyone participating in our class, you can certainly lift them up in

Health and Wellness at The Recreation Place prayer. Pray against injuries, pray against the spirit of discouragement, and pray that God would be glorified as we “strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up, and run with endurance the race God has set before us.” (Hebrews 12:1) If you’d like to cheer us on,

your appointment with the photographer online until noon on September 9 on a first come/first serve basis. DOC-UP Golf Tournament The first ever DOC‐UP Golf Tournament will be on Monday, October 10 at The Farm. The registration fee is $175 per player, which includes a cart, lunch, and gifts. A car from Pye Motors will be awarded to the first golfer to make a hole‐in‐one on a designated hole! Proceeds go toward assisting the “working poor” of Dalton in paying rent, utilities, and
medical prescriptions. Registration and payment deadline is October 3. They are also seeking sponsors. For more information call 706‐278‐7883 or visit their new website: www.docup.org.
Prayer: Lord, save me from faint‐heartedness in prayer. Teach me persistence and the ability to hold on, press on, and wait. Amen.
Scripture: “Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.” ‐Luke 18:1 Reflection: Persistent prayer is a mighty move of the soul toward God; it is the ability to hold on, press on, and wait.

Missions and Outreach CALL FOR SHEETS & BANDAGE
ROLLING HELPERS: We need used white sheets (flat are the best) to make bandages this fall. You can drop them off at the church office. Don’t forget us when you come upon a bargain this fall at a yard sale! We are also looking for bandage rollers to assist us in our monthly gatherings here at the church. We typically meet at 10am every 4th Tuesday (join us on the
27th this month). Norma Gieseman needs some help and a co‐director! Contact Tyler Downing for more details.
GOT BOOKS WITHOUT A HOME?
Lightly used paperback or hardback books have places to go! Novels, biographies, histories, or inspirational classics have eager readers at hospitals, retirement centers, and V.A. centers. Drop yours by the church office.
