According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), about 20 tropical cyclones

enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) each

year.

Tropical depression, tropical storm and

typhoon are the categories of earthquake.

Typhoon is used only in the northwest part of

the Pacific Ocean, while in northeast part and Atlantic Ocean, it

is called hurricane.

Tropical cyclone

- is a system of thunderstorms that are moving around a center.-occur all around the world. -hurricanes in the Atlantic and Caribbean, typhoons in the West Pacific, bagyo in the Philippines, cordonazos in Mexico, and tainos in Haiti.

Categories ofTropical cyclones

Tropical Depression - An organized system of

clouds and thunderstorms.

- maximum sustained winds of 39 mph (mile per hour) of less.

- Tropical Storm- - An organized

system of strong thunderstorms

- maximum sustained winds of 39-73 mph.

• Typhoon• - An intense tropical

weather system with a well-defined circulation

• maximum sustained winds of 74 mph or higher.
