Falcon concentrators

Higher G-orces = Higher RecoveryForover21yearswehavededicatedourresearchanddevelopmenttosimple,provenand

effectiveHighG-forcegravityconcentrationequipmentfortherecoveryofFINEmetalsand

minerals in a wide range of mineral industries.

Sepro Mineral Systemshas3 models ofFalcongravityconcentrators: theSemi-Batch (SB)

Concentrator, the Continuous (C) Concentrator and the Ultra-Fine (UF) Concentrator. All

models rely on a rotating bowl to generate high gravitational forces, but each model is unique

inthewaythatit collectsandproducesconcentrate. Highgravitationalforcesareusedto

exploitthedifferencesindensitybetweenparticles,allowingforacleanerandmuchner

separation than is possible using low G devices.

Sepro hasa completerange ofFalconmachines from smallportable units forlaboratory

If you are unfamiliar with gravity concentrators our rst recommendation is always:

Testwork! There is excellent correlation between lab results and industrial performance

for our concentrators. The GravityRecoverableGold (GRG) test isthe industrystandard

for determining the potential for free gold recovery, but accurate test procedures have been

developed for gold sulphides, base metals, industrial minerals and a variety of other materials.

Sepro’s 3rd Generation Gravity Concentrators orFine particle recovery

Centrifugalconcentratorshaveevolvedsignicantlyoverthepast25years.

1st Generation: Conicalrotatingbowldesignwithnouidizedbed-failedbecauseoflowrecoveries and bed compaction.

2nd Generation:Conicalbowldesignwithauidizedbed.Conicalshaperesultsinuneven

Falcon SB concentrators

Coarse and fne precious metal recovery TheFalconSBConcentratorisbasedonacombinationoftheoriginal,smoothwalledFalcon“BBowl”andthe

fullyuidizedMacNicolbowlwhichoriginatedinAustraliainthe1930’s.

Thesemachinesareknownas“Semi-Batch”becausetheycontinuallyacceptfeedduringtherun cycle, but

onlyproduceconcentrateduringperiodicrinsecycles.Runtimesrangeanywherefrom5minutestoseveral

hours, depending on the application.

RinsetimesaregenerallylessthanaminuteasFalconusesdynamicbrakestoquicklyslowthebowl down,

rinse out the concentrate, and then return to full operational speed.

TheFalconSBconcentratorsusevariablefrequencydrivesandcanoperateanywherefrom50to 200 G’s.

ThetypicalapplicationforaFalconSBconcentratorisrecoveryofliberatedpreciousmetals(Au,Ag,Pt,etc.)within

a grinding circuit. When installed within a grinding circuit, Sepro often recommends that the gravity

concentratorbeplacedoncyclonefeed,ratherthancycloneunderowtogeneratehigherrecoveries.

Outside of grinding circuits, Falcon SB concentrators are also used for precious metal separation from

aggregateorplacerdeposits.Thetargetmineralwillusuallybeinextremelylowconcentration(gramsper

tonne) and a very high upgrade is desired (up to 10,000x).

Falcon C concentrators

Recovery down to 10 microns. The Falcon C concentrator is typicallyused in gravity recovery applications that requirea

highermassyieldtoconcentratewhencomparedwiththeSBmachines.Applicationsinclude

recoveryandupgradeoftin,tantalum,tungsten,chrome,cobalt,iron,neoxidizedcoaland
