1 Dear Members: Another busy and successful Fall - 85 courses were offered, taken by 362 of our members, accounting for 1253 registrations in all! Happily we were joined by 50 new members. We enjoyed an amazing variety of courses, thanks to our four regional committees who continue to work tirelessly to offer diverse learning opportunities with excellent instructors in comfortable venues. Please consider the many Winter course offerings outlined in this newsletter prior to attending winter registration. At the recent AGM, TSC received a new board and a new constitution. The new constitution was required to fully implement our TSC Strategic Plan (SP). Pursuant to this, we are now revising and streamlining our committee structure. To date, your TSC Board and committees have achieved many SP objectives; the new structure will allow us to finish the job and implement those initiatives you as members have told us were important. As always, your input and committee participation would be most welcome. Contact Tracey [email protected] or me [email protected] and don’t forget the suggestion box at registration! TSC WINS AWARD! TSC has received the New Brunswick “ Excellence in Aging Award” ! This award recognizes New Brunswickers who have had “a positive, unique and remarkable impact on the way people age in New Brunswick.” The award was presented to TSC representatives by The Honourable Jocelyne Roy Vienneau- 31st Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick at a reception in Fredericton. Congratulations were also given by The Honorable Lisa Harris, Minister of Seniors and Long-Term Care and Minister Responsible for Celtic Affairs for New Brunswick. As members, we all know how remarkable TSC is, but it is gratifying to have our organization recognized by others. A big THANK YOU to all of the volunteers who made this possible! I will close by wishing you Happy Holidays and a wonderful New Year filled with learning and laughter.
