ABOUT THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS Aloha from Hawaii - There are six major islands to visit in Hawaii: Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and the island of Hawaii! Each has its own disnct personality, adventures, acvies and sights. We invite you to explore the Islands of Aloha to find your own heavenly Hawaii experiences. CULTURE The diverse culture of Hawaii is expressed in (among other things) language, music, art, theater, dance, film, cuisine and a multude of fesvals. At the core of each is the spirit of aloha, in the fluid arc of a hula dancer’s hands or in the so rhythm of a slack-key guitar. The "Aloha Spirit" is the coordinaon of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others. In the contemplaon and presence of life force. The Hawaiian Islands Cultural Events Every year, Hawaiian music is celebrated in music fesvals that celebrate the uniqueness of Hawaii instruments, musicians, and songs. The Ukulele Fesval (July) at Kapiolani Park Bandstand in Waikiki honors what many visitors believe to be a hand-me-down from ancient Hawaii, but in reality, the ukulele was brought here by Portuguese immigrants at the end of the 19th century. Today, the ukulele is sll a fundamental part of the musical landscape, not simply on stage but also at family picnics or on the beach. The island of Hawaii's Kona Slack Key Fesval (September) pays tribute to a uniquely local way of playing the guitar – another Hawaiian music staple. Slack key is a “slacked” or loosened tuning or technique that reflects the breezy, flowing quality of both local climate and culture. EXPERIENCES Home to the world’s most acve volcanoes, the only royal palace in the U.S. and the welcoming aloha spirit—Hawaii is like no place on earth. Discover the glimmering ocean, emerald valleys and golden sands; get lost in the spiritual beauty of the hula and find out how the warmth of Hawaii’s people wonderfully complement the islands’ perfect temperatures. We invite you to explore the Islands of Aloha to find your own heavenly Hawaii experiences. Sightseeing Keep your camera ready: in Hawaii, breathtaking sights await you around every turn. Here, just about every byway is scenic, and each overlook offers a new Instagram-ready vista. From hidden sea caves along the Napali Coast to state parks that let you walk in the footsteps of Hawaiian royalty—not to menon our hundreds of miles of sun-kissed beaches—we invite you to explore Hawaii's magnificent scenery.

Family Activities Ohana (family) is deeply important in Hawaiian culture, which makes our islands a welcoming desnaon for kids of all ages. From snorkeling and sandcastle building on sun-soaked beaches to exploring volcanoes and sacred cultural sites, the Hawaiian Islands are a natural playground you never outgrow.

Hawaii is literally swimming with water-based acvies. Kids can pet a sea lion at Sea Life Park, learn to surf from a pro on Waikiki Beach, and see massive humpback whales splashing around during a whale-watching tour on Maui, Molokai or Lanai. Snorkeling is a kid-approved acvity all year long; popular spots include the shallow, protected de pools of Poipu Beach on Kauai and the island of Hawaii’s Kona coast, where you can even swim with dolphins and manta rays.

Beyond the beach, our amazing museums and natural atracons will bring you closer to Hawaii’s fascinang culture – and each other. Learn to dance the hula at the Smith Family Garden Luau, Polynesian

Cultural Center and many other authenc luau on every island. Kids can watch planetarium shows and parcipate in lava demonstraons at the Bishop Museum, or learn how Hawaii’s early explorers navigated to our shores by the stars at the Imiloa Astronomy Center. Or, let the litle ones burn off some energy at our naonal and state parks, lush gardens and green spaces – from hikes through the clouds at Iao Valley State Park to zipline adventures at Kualoa Ranch, a filming locaon of Jurassic Park. THE HAWAII CONVENTION CENTER It’s “Where Business and Aloha Meet” — and in a winning way. The 1.1 million-square-foot Hawaii Convenon Center provides organizaons from around the globe with a seng that is disnctly Hawaii in style while being spacious, modern, and flexible. The Center's striking open-air design of public spaces, abundance of natural light and lush landscaping provide a meengs backdrop unlike anywhere else in the world, and Hawaii Convenon Center’s on-site F&B kitchen produces delectable Hawaii-inspired dishes that elevate dining from "convenonal" to exceponal. The Perfect Locaon The Hawaii Convenon Center fronts Kalakaua Avenue, the boulevard anchoring Honolulu’s shopping, dining and entertainment scene. It’s adjacent to Waikiki, Oahu’s iconic resort area with 30,000 hotel rooms and a divine, crescent-shaped beach. In the other direcon is the capital city’s downtown area and some of Hawaii's top atracons. The Daniel K. Inouye Internaonal Airport (HNL) is a mere eight-mile drive. Addionally, Hawaii's diverse economy creates a rich meengs ecosystem for organizaons across many industries. While tourism and related services are top-of-mind among Hawaii's leading business sectors, the islands are also recognized for important work in high-tech fields, including volcanology, biology, ocean sciences, geology and green technology, has a strong defense sector and is an important manufacturer and exporter in coton-based products, raw sugar and molasses, pineapple and other agricultural products.
