There is no more placement testing!
• Due to the implementation of AB 705, IVC will no longer offer the Math and English
Assessment. Students will now be required to attend an Orientation Workshop that will
present items pertaining to becoming oriented with the campus and services. At the end of the
presentation students will then complete a self-guided placement survey and submit a copy of
their HS transcript. These items will provide students with a placement within 24 hours of
attending the workshop.
• IVC – No H.S. Preview Day for 2019! Will continue Freshman Advantage
Program, Laser week (in August) and will hold weekly campus tours.

What makes a CSU campus “selective?”

Letters of Recommendation
● Students must pick up a counselor recommendation packet from Ms. Cochran in the counseling office.
● Student’s request a recommendation from counselor on Common App
● Packet must be complete before they make an appointment
● Student’s go to parchment.com to order their transcripts
● Please allow the counselor at least 2 weeks to write the letter
● No letters will be written over Winter Break (12/22/18 - 1/6/19)

● It is imperative for your student to read and check their email regularly!○ Colleges and Universities will send much of their
