Adrianna Flood

After high school, Adriannaplans to attend Miami Universityto major in finance and, “hope-fully fulfill my dreams of travel-ing around the world,” she said. While attending New Rich-mond, Adrianna was a part ofvolleyball, softball and March-ing Band for four years; she wasa part of Pep Band for two yearsand National Honor Society fortwo years. miss being around people whoare so full of themselves andpeople who lack work ethic,”she said. Adrianna will missMr.McKinley andMr.Stratton. “Mr.McKinley-he is such a caring and un-derstanding teacher and isnot here to ‘just teach.’ He be-comes friends with the bandmembers and treats them as ifthey are his own kids. I willnot forget him. Mr.Stratton- Ionly had him my sophomore

year, but he was one of my fa-vorites. The first day of class wasa little nerve-wracking becausehe seemed really strict and gavea lot of homework; however, hecan be a softie and is really car-ing, and I learned the most in hisclass out of all the others. Also,he is so supportive of not onlyme, but all of the other girls whochose to take his winter weighttraining, I will not forget him aswell,” she said. Some funny memories forAdrianna are: “Any bandmemory is a favorite memory.Another favorite memory wouldbe winning league this year with

the volleyball team. A funnymemory is that someone put badsmelling food in Tim Hammer’sbackpack and he looked up thebest way to get rid of a bad smelland found out that is by usingcoconut. Well, instead of buy-ing coconut air freshener, Timbought a coconut and put it inhis backpack. Somehow the co-conut ended up in my locker, andI am pretty sure Tim drank someof the coconut milk,” she said. Some advice from Adrianna is:“As it was said in The Lion King,‘Remember who you are.’ Manystudents get to high school andcompletely change who they areto ‘fit in’ and ‘be cool.’ However, the best way to find your truefriends is by being you and be-ing friends with those who likethe real you. Finding who yourtrue friends are fast will help outa lot with having less drama. Also, don't judge others. Younever know what someone isgoing through. Lastly, do notcare about what others think ofyou,” she said. And finally, Adrianna would liketo say this: “I would like to thank

Mr.Stratton for pushing me to bethe best I can be, both in classand at weightlifting;Mr.McKinley, for being such agreat teacher and taking so muchof his time and putting it into hisamazing band and for makingband one of my favorite highschool experiences; Mrs.Corbin, for being a great coach and notgiving up on me or the team andhelping lead us to win league, Iwould also like to thank BrookeEdgar for continually setting mein the last play of my last leaguegames. team and played basketball.Senior year I got more in-volved and was in StudentCouncil and became VicePresident of the Senior Class, continued to do film for thefootball team, and played bas-ketball. All four years of highschool I volunteered at theyouth basketball camp in thesummer which was always alot of fun.” Once she leaves, Ashleysaid she’ll miss a couple ofthings. “I will not miss muchabout high school, but the

one thing that I will miss is therelationships I have built withsome of the staff. I will also re-ally miss the simplicity of highschool. There is a lot that I willnot miss, but most importantlywould be the immaturity andgossip,” she said. Quite a few teachers/staff mem-bers who have had an influenceon Ashley and she said that shewill remember from her time hereat New Richmond. “First of allwould be Ms. Wilkins, (soon tobe Mrs. Miller); she constantlyreminded me of the Serenity

Prayer: ‘God grant me the seren-ity to accept the things I cannotchange, courage to change thethings I can, and wisdom to knowthe difference,’ which I never re-ally understood until my senioryear. I struggled through my jour-ney of high school and her con-stant reminder of The SerenityPrayer has helped me developinto the person I have becomeover the past four years. Sec-ondly, would be Mrs. Griffin. Ihave enjoyed every minute ofclass time with her and gettingto know her. She does so muchfor everyone and does not getrecognized as much as sheshould, but she is truly an amaz-ing and inspiring woman. I wouldalso like to recognize Ms. Pridefor always being there for me andmaking my transition from a smallCatholic school to New Rich-mond a lot easier my freshmanyear. Mrs. Dalton is anotherteacher who had an influence onme during my time at NRHS. Inever got the opportunity to takeone of her classes, but I reallywish I could have because I amreally happy I have gotten toknow her better. Another teacherwho had an influence on me wasMrs. Nehls. I loved having Span-ish class with her and having theopportunity to travel to Spain/France with her and my fellowclassmates.” Some of Ashley’s favoritememories from high schoolwould mostly be the ones shemade with friends. “I really en-joyed Spirit Week and the peprallies. I loved, loved, LOVED theFriday night football games andthe fun I had with my teammatesin sports.” Ashley’s advice to other highschool students is to get in-volved! “Now that I look back atit, I wish I would have gotten

more involved in extracurricularactivities besides sports. Sportsare very time consuming, but Iwish I would have gotten moreinvolved in school clubs. Highschool is a roller coaster so getready. The best thing you cando is be friends with everyoneand follow the Golden rule,“Treat others how you wish tobe treated.” Ashley would like to thank herfamily and friends,” for helpingme become the person I am to-day and for their constant sup-port.” And finally, Ashley offersthese words of wisdom: “I wouldlike to share is high school andlife itself is a journey. It is filledwith every possible emotion, itis not perfect, and it is not easy, but you have the power to makeyour own choices and enjoy allthe beauty life has to offer. Highschool has taught me a lot of lifelessons. There have been somemore downs than ups through-out high school, but overall, Ihave learned simply to not behateful, resentful, or angry, butthankful for God giving me thestrength to make it through andgiving me another day to wakeup and see another beautifulday.”

One teacher stands out asCarter’s most memorable. “Ifthere is one teacher who has hadthe greatest impact on me, itwould be Mr. Shebesta. Eventhough he picks on me all thetime, he’s been one of my favor-ites. Not only has he been mymath teacher, but also my coachand teacher in how to pursue life. He’s also the only teacher to evernot make me feel short,” saidCarter. Carter’s favorite memory?“‘Why don’t seagulls fly overthe bay? Because they’d becalled baygulls.’ --Shebesta.” And finally, Carter said this:“Just remember, it costs $0.00 totell someone how much you ap-preciate them. You can makeanyone’s day better by doingso.”

Austin plans to live life exactly

how he wants once he graduates.“I’ll do whatever I can to behappy. It’s my life; why should Ispend it doing things I don’twant to do?” he said. While at NRHS, Austin hasbeen active with the drama andtheatre program. “I’ve been inevery play or musical,” he said.“Also, I’ve been taking balletclasses because I want to expressthe inner me. Ha! I’m joking! Iflaying in bed all day is an activ-ity, that’s what I did.” As for what he’ll miss and notmiss, Austin’s response was a

little contradictory. “I’ll miss allthe teachers. I won’t miss theclasses,” he said. And he couldn’t really pick asingle favorite teacher, preferringto remember all of them. “Is itcheesy if I say all of them?” hesaid. Austin has two favorite memo-ries. “Nick Kirby and I perfectlyre-doing a scene from HighSchool Musical. And when thesoda machine broke.” And for his words of wisdom,Austin offers these: “I’d like tothank everyone. You are all im-portant , besides a few of youwho haven’t been on the AustinLawson train. And other thanthem, who cares? It’s been fun,so all right, y’all--I guess I’ll seeyou later.”

Ella plans a future in musiconce she graduates. “After HighSchool, i intend to go to NKUand major in Music Education. Iplan to become a music teacherand I also plan to keep perfor-mance in my life. Wherever I can,I’ll perform in shows, sing inchoirs and sing solos.” While in high school, Ella saidshe has done everything shecould related to her two pas-sions, music and theatre. “I wasin the Women’s Choir, the DramaClub and Pep Band and I wasalso involved in a couple of non-musical extracurriculars. I am amember of the National HonorSociety, and I participated inGirl’s State (along with LindsayWilliams). Outside of school, Itake private voice and piano les-sons in preparation for collegeauditions and i participated in aplay for the New Richmond Bi-centennial celebration.” Ella said there is almost noth-ing she won’t miss about her timeat New Richmond High School.“I have had a blast! The thing I

will miss the most, of course, will be the people I leave be-hind; all of my friends and theteachers and my freshmanbabies and I already miss theNew Richmond graduatesthat came before me. I willgreatly miss the families I’m apart of in drama and band andchoir. I will miss all of our the-ater traditions and I will missall of the crazy rides on theband bus. I will miss the hot

and sweaty experience that isband camp and I will miss mygirls in Women’s Choir. I will missHomecomings and Proms andClash of the Classes. I will miss alot of the classes I’ve been in.Although difficult, AP Gov., Bio.,and English are a blast and Ilearned a lot from the teachersand students there. I am so gladthat I was able to go to schoolhere. I’ve grown and learned alot throughout high school. only things I won’t miss are thehours of homework I had in thoseAP classes and any of the off-stage drama I experienced.” Many teachers have influ-enced Ella throughout her edu-cation. “I’ve loved almost all ofthe teachers I’ve had. I loved Mr.Helton, Mrs. Ball, and Mrs. Lim-ing in Middle School. I particu-larly remember Mrs. Liming’s petcrows, Carl and Candy. In highschool, I had a great time withMr. Harris, Mrs. Cornette, Mrs.Corpuz, Mr. McMonigle, Mr.Moorehead, Mr. Stratton, andMama P. I loved Mr. Stratton’spassionate speeches, and Mr.Harris’s exasperated sigh andMrs. Parker’s legendary sarcasm.Last but not least, Mr. DouglasHeflin. He has taught me a wholelot about music and life. Ella said that picking particularfavorite moments of high schoolis difficult for her because so

much has happenedand she’s had somany good times. “As I said, I’ve enjoyedevery show and everygame and every peprally and every bandbus ride and so on.Many of my favoritememories have beenon the stage, whetherthat was singing so-los in front of hun-dreds of people orperforming in themany shows I’ve beena part of. Funny the-

atre moments include: the twonight glorious costume malfunc-tions when the FairyGodmother’s magic failed, theduck, and of course, Daniel skip-ping the frog scene. The funnymoments in band include: Gummybears winding up in my Ramennoodles at Band Camp, andBrooklyn Klein asking Mr.McKinley, “Is mayonnaise an in-strument?” The Troubs trip toFlorida was, of course, a blastand I loved the crazy outfits onSpirit Week.” And as she leaves, Ella hassome advice: “My advice tothose still in high school is toignore the social drama and holdyour head up high. Rememberthat it’s all temporary and you’llbe gone not too long from now,and just get through it. Highschool can be hard but don’t for-get to have fun, the time fliesby.”

Chad said he’ll remember twoteachers in particular when heleaves NRHS. “One teacher whohas influenced me is Mr. Heflin, the former Troubs teacher. Therewas never a day in his classwhere he did not inspire you andhe was always be there for hisstudents. I’ll never forget him.Another teacher I won’t forgetis Mr. Mahan. sense of humor,” said Chad. Favorite memories are non-spe-cific for Chad. “Some of my fa-vorite/funniest memories are allof the late nights with friendsand doing stupid things. Also, just having fun in school and notworrying so much about schoolwork. I also liked all of the differ-ent ways of asking my girlfriendto dances,” he said. Appreciate the time you havein high school is Chad’s adviceto others. “My advice to otherstudents is make the best of highschool. As many days as youdon’t want to be in school, makethe best of it because it will beover super fast and you’ll wantto go back to all of your favoritememories in high school,” hesaid. His last words? “I would mainlylike to thank my parents, family, teachers, friends, and girlfriendfor helping get where I am andhave an impact on who I am to-day,” Chad finished.

I willalso miss Mr. Durm from LCE; healways brightened up my day

with his jokes,” Ally explained.“I will miss Mrs. Liming from themiddle school as well, she al-ways got my sarcasm and I al-ways got hers, although will misstalking to Mrs. Minning abouteverything the most before head-ing to college.” Ally also shared some of herfavorite/funniest memories. “Sa-ran wrapping my friends’ cars(outside of school, of course)and spending all four years withmy best friend, EliseHoldsworth,” she said. “Some ofmy other favorite memories comefrom cliff jumping at Peebles andSt. Paul's and spending 10 daysin Europe with some hooligans.” As for advice she has for otherhigh schoolers, Ally said, “Dealwith drama the best way you canbecause even if you don’t wantit to, drama will always find you. Also, your friends will changeand that’s okay, surround your-self with people that make youhappy.” Ally also added, “Shoutout to

JosephMaxwell

After high school, Joe Maxwellplans to attend the University ofCincinnati Freshman EngineeringProgram. “If I do well enough inthe FEP, which I plan to, I willpursue majoring in AerospaceEngineering,” he said,”UnderUC’s co-op program, I intend towork full time every other semes-ter throughout my college edu-cation, as well.” During high school, Joe hasbeen involved in many afterschool or extracurricular activi-ties. “Over the course of highschool, I have been in NationalHonor Society for two years, played tennis all four years (var-sity three of the four), ran for thecross country team three years(I broke my ankle junior year),and played on the AcademicTeam for two years,” he said. Joehas also been a part of many af-ter school clubs, includingFrench Club and Chemistry Club. “There are many things I’msure I will miss about NRHS, butI think I will miss my relation-ships with my friends and teach-ers the most. After high school,no matter how much I wish theywouldn’t, I’m sure most of myrelationships with peers will bechanged forever,” said Joe. Healso added that he will not missthe loads of homework or hav-ing to ask to use the restroom. Joe was influenced by everyteacher he has ever had in a dif-ferent way, but there are a fewthat stand out a bit. “It is veryhard to tell which teachers I willalways remember, but I couldn’timagine forgetting Mrs. Griffin’scupcakes and abundant gener-ous deadline extensionsthroughout four years of jour-nalism,” he said. “Along with Mr.“Coach” Shebesta and his loadsof sarcasm; I’ve had him as acoach for a total of seven sea-sons and he was also my pre-calculus teacher. There are also

a few teachers/staff members Iwould be doing an injustice notto mention due to all of the painI’ve caused in their butts: Ms.Wilkins, Mrs. Prescott, Dr.Rosselot, Mrs. Parker, Mr.Crowley, Ms. Cornette, Mrs.Coulter, and Mrs. Montgomery.” Joe also shared some of his fa-vorite moments from high school. He said, “Looking back at it, highschool has been a pretty greattime, even through all of thestresses. But my favorite mo-ments have to be annoying thecrap out of my teachers, laugh-ing with friends about the mostunimaginably stupid things, timespent with my sports teams, andspending 10 days in France andSpain.” The advice Joe offers to otherhigh school students is simplyto avoid procrastination. “Pro-crastination has been an inter-esting thing that has taken overmy life. All throughout school, elementary and middle included, procrastinating had been easybecause I found school easy, butwhen I took much more challeng-ing courses my junior and senioryears, it took a toll on my tran-script and life. If you’re a pro-crastinator like me, my advice isto just do it and get it over with, don’t ‘do it later.’” Joe also added, “I’d like tothank every teacher that has putup with me over the years as wellas my friends that have madehigh school a bit more tolerable.”

Taylor has been influenced bya couple of teachers while at-tending New Richmond. “ I havefour teachers who have made ahuge impact. Starting in fourthgrade, Mrs.Daniels; sixth grade,Mrs.Lindsley; middle school,

Mrs.Liming; and the best of all,Mrs.Parker,” she said. There have been some goodand funny moments for Taylorin New Richmond. “My favoriteday of high school was junioryear when Yik Yak started. I alsoloved every day in AdvancedEnglish 3,” she said. Taylor has some advice foryounger students. “You onlyhave four years left with thepeople you grew up with, so youmay as well make the most of itbecause it really does fly by,” shesaid.

Alix’s influences include Mrs.Cornette (Kirby.) “She alwaysinfluenced me to do the rightthing. She was very understand-ing and I will always rememberher,” she commented. Alix’s favorite memory fromhigh school is in sixth grade.“Cidney Adams and I were sit-ting at the lunch table talking toour friends. We had corn dogsfor lunch, but I wasn’t hungryso I took the breading off thecorn dog and put it in her ear,”Alix mentioned. “My advice to other studentsis to drop out now!” she said. “I would like to thank all of myteachers for helping me start mylife, and for teaching me things Iwould have never known,” Alixfinished finally.

Kayla Olenick After highschool, Kaylaplans to attendcollege and gether bachelor’s de-gree. “I will workin my collegeyears and hope-fully find a goodcareer that willmake othershappy,” she said. During her high school career,Kayla has participated in manyactivities. “Soccer, cross coun-try, mixed chorus, women’s choir,Troubadours, drama club, march-ing band, concert band, chemis-try club, pit band, and StudentCouncil,” she said. “Some things I will miss aboutNRHS are the teachers and howkind they are, the music program, and the people that I grew upwith,” Kayla recalled. “We haveall shared so many good memo-ries together and I will miss ev-ery single one of them, even if Ididn’t know them that well or ifwe were on bad terms. The onlything that I won’t miss is thedress code. If I was allowed towear yoga pants or leggings ev-eryday of my high school career,it would have been ten times bet-ter. (Okay, that was a slight exag-geration, but still!)” All of Kayla’s teachers from preto high school have influencedher greatly. “Each and every oneof them have helped me grow, not only as a student, but as aperson,” she said. Some of Kayla’s favorite memo-

ries are from cross country.“When we were playing ‘Duck,Duck, Goose!’ I was the first torun around, tagged AnnaBennett, and started to sprint. AsI was just about to sit in theempty spot, I tripped on a rootand slid, fell, and hit my head onthe ground. We all laughed forten minutes and I’ll never forgetit,” she said. Kayla also offered advice toother high school students.“Make sure you get your workdone and always study for tests(even if it is five minutes beforethe test.) As for life advice, thereis always a bright side to every-thing and everything happensfor a reason. Every single per-son on the planet has a gift, theyjust have to learn how to use it,”she said. Kayla also added, “I would liketo thank my family for support-ing me, especially my parents. They have pushed me to be thebest I can be and, if not for them,I wouldn’t be where I am today.‘Life moves pretty fast. If youdon’t stop and look around once

in awhile, you could miss it.’”

After high school, Kelseyplans on furthering her educa-tion. “Obviously, I’ll go to col-lege, but not so obvious is whereI’ll be attending school. However,I’m going to end up being a doc-tor after college, an orthopedicsurgeon to be exact. Then, I planto have a nice family that has anice home; basically live a happy, normal life,” she said. While in high school, Kelseyhas done cross country, bandand choir for all four years.“Cross country being my favor-

Kelsey Nicholsite because of the simple fact thatwe are a family,” she said. As forband, she did Marching Band,Concert Band, Pep Band and PitBand. “I did Science Challenge allfour years, getting second placeoverall this year, and I’ve doneAcademic Team for the past twoyears,” she added. She has also been a part ofChem Club, Prom Committee andNational Honor Society. Kelsey reflected on what shewould miss most at the highschool. “I’m going to miss a lotof the teachers. They are funny, nice and I feel like I’ve really got-ten to know them; it’ll be hard toadjust to new teachers. I’m alsogoing to miss seeing all of myfriends daily and knowing thatthey will always be there. I know;however, that I will not miss thestress over the dress code. I willbe glad to wear my clothes with-out feeling like I am being scruti-nized. I also will not miss the con-stant drama; it is ridiculous,” shesaid.

Kelsey fondly rememberedsome of her favorite teachersthroughout her four years at thehigh school. “The most dominantone that comes to mind is Mr.Shebesta. Having him as a coachand a teacher has been great.During cross country, he was al-ways encouraging, funny andinspirational. I’ll also miss Mrs.Parker. She is good at makingEnglish fun and I’ve learned alot from her (not pertaining toEnglish, but life),” she said. Kelsey also looked back on herfavorite memories while in highschool. “Some of my favoritememories are Mr. Shebesta’s in-spirational speeches beforeraces that always seemed to makeall of us cry, Clautrude andGertius from Hamlet, Tie-dyingand swimming at Syd’s with thecross country crew, the long busrides to football games when ev-eryone became closer, and all ofthe trips to King’s Island withmy friends, especially when Iforced Brooke on the Diamond-Back and when my mom had to

come save us (Tim and I) becauseTim killed the car’s battery byleaving the lights on for thewhole day,” she said. Kelsey leaves these words ofwisdom: “Don’t let a number de-fine you. Yes, your ACT scorematters and your GPA matters, but they are not who you are.Do the best you can, but don’tlive your life through yourgrades. Also, you do you. Therewill always be someone judgingyou so forget about what othersthink and be yourself,” she said.

After graduation, Erin’s plansinclude college. “I am going tothe University of Cincinnati, get-ting a PharmD degree (highestPharmacy degree), and hopefullyfulfilling all of my dreams alongthe way.” While at NRHS, Erin partici-pated in many after-school ac-tivities. “I participated in ArtClub, Chemistry Club, FrenchClub, Student Council, Drama

Erin O’TooleClub, National Honor Society,Choir, Marching Band, PepBand, Volleyball, and taughtchildren at my local church onSundays,” she said. Erin nominates band as whatshe will miss the most. “I willmiss band. Everything aboutit—my friends, the teachers, the percussionists, the music, bus rides, and so much more.

My best memories are from band.I will not miss most of the stu-dents at NRHS, though. Attend-ing UC Clermont for just twoyears showed me just how readyI am to move on in life.” Favorite teachers for Erin arefrom high school and elementary.“Mr. McKinley from high schoolband, Mr. Wright from highschool band, Mrs. Hausermanfrom high school art and Mrs.

Shoemaker from second grade atMonroe Elementary.” Band camp brings back thefondest memories for Erin. “Ev-ery year of band camp broughtnew surprises. From learning ca-dences, to getting terrible yethilarious tan lines, tripping overthings with bass drums on, andmaking forever memories. SeniorNights were most memorable byfar. The gifts we received fromour underclassmen percussion-ists were so thoughtful, some-thing I will never forget.” Erin’s advice to underclassmenfocuses on being kind andthoughtful. “Think before youspeak. High school can be arough time; you never fully knowwhat someone else is goingthrough in their own life so thereis no need to possibly worsen

their day through pointless com-ments.” And finally, Erin offers a lastthank you. “Thank you to thefriends that actually stuckaround.”

Some things Amanda will missfrom New Richmond are band, and her friends. “Of all things Iam going to miss, I think band isat the top of my list. Being in themarching band has given me somany great memories and friends, and I wouldn't trade that for any-thing. I will also miss the friendsI have made, the teachers whohave made school worth goingto, choir and all of the greatmemories that fill the hallways. Iwill not miss the drama. With allof the good experiences I havehad, I have also experienced alot of drama, stress, anxiety, andunnecessary rudeness,” saidAmanda. Amanda said she will miss Mrs.Parker, Mrs. Griffin, Mrs.Prescott, Mr. Heflin, Mrs.Hannah, Mr. McKinley, and Mr.Wright. Amanda has had many fond

memories atNew Rich-mond. “Dur-ing my fresh-man year ofband camp,my friendthrew a packof Oreos tosomeone andhe fell out ofhis chair try-ing to catch it;

also, people acting like idiots atpep rallies and football games. “My advice to other highschool students is to try yourbest, don't stress too much overgrades but remember that theyare important. I also want to saythat you shouldn’t let the rudepeople or drama get to you, be-cause after you graduate, youprobably won’t have to deal withthose people again,” saidAmanda. As Amanda leaves she has afew last words. “I would like tothank the teachers who believein me, my parents and sister, andthe friends who stayed by myside when life got tough. Whether it’s winning a leaguetitle, getting anA on the testyou studiedall night for, orwatching yourteachers em-barrass them-selves in sillypep rallygames, thereare a lot ofgreat thingsabout highschool. Highschool for me has been quite theexperience. Consisting of a total of ten sea-sons of sports and all honors/AP/CCP classes, I have beenbusy throughout high school. There are many times I have beenstressed, sleep deprived, andupset because of high school, but I wouldn’t trade my experi-ence here at NRHS for anything. Walking into this school offi-cially as a student for the firsttime four and a half years agoseems like just yesterday. Al-though there are many times Icontemplated dropping out andjust never coming to school again(joking… of course), lookingback on things, high school suredoes fly by. I have now been ac-

this moment has been approach-ing my whole life, yet it seemssurreal that I am finally here andalmost ready to leave my homefor college. My life has always been basedaround New Richmond, Ohio andit is weird to think I am ready tobe introduced to a whole newlifestyle. I have created so manymemories and bonds that I willcarry with me for the rest of mylife here at NRHS. In my time hereI have made friends I will havefor the rest of my life and learnedlessons that will not soon be for-gotten, either. While attending NRHS, I havebeen inducted into NationalHonor Society, won three crosscountry League Championships,

two (hopefully three this year)tennis League Championships, attended tennis sectionals (win-ning a game on the reigning statechampion), and achieved suc-cess in my two years of AcademicTeam as well. Along with my ath-letic successes, NRHS also of-fered me the opportunity to ven-ture across the Atlantic Oceanto explore France and Spain. Ihave also learned so much andtaken so many classes providedby many inspirational and intel-ligent teachers that I will con-tinue to remember and use forassistance, not only in College, but for the rest of my life. Senior year has been veryunique to other years of highschool for a couple reasons.Other than having a few moreprivileges than other years, se-nior year is different because youknow it is your last year. Afterthis, you’re done with highschool, no going back. For tworeasons that is weird, one is youlook forward to moving on to therest of your life, yet you are alsoa bit scared to move away fromfamiliarity. Therefore in my expe-rience, I have learned that it isbest to try to savor senior year, even through all of the stressesinvolved with it. My advicewould be to get all of your worktowards college finished asquickly as possible, so it doesn’tcloud the rest of your final year. Based on statistics, you willalso move on after high schooland not have time to maintainmany of your relationships. Thisis another reason why senior yearis very special. You don’t havetoo much of an idea who you willcontinue to be friends with afterhigh school, therefore it is im-portant to enjoy the companyyou are familiar to having in highschool before graduation. As for advice to future stu-dents of NRHS, I would like to

advise you to enjoy your timehere. Even during the low times, high school is an experience thatwill define who you are as a per-son and it is important to enjoyyour time here as much as pos-sible. Try new things, come outof your comfort zone a bit. Aslong as you are making gooddecisions and focusing on yourwellbeing you will have a greattime. For the last thing I have to add,I would like to say thank you.Thank you to the amazing NRHSstaff and teachers that havemade my high school experiencesuch an influential, importantportion of my life. Thank you tomy friends that have made thestresses of school weigh a bitless heavy. Finally, thank you tomy family. The support I havereceived from not only my par-ents and brothers, but cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, andmany others have been such ahuge source of inspiration andhelp over the years. Thank youNew Richmond High School andalthough senior year is agoodbye for now, I’m sure I willstill be seen around.
