Strictly Come Dancing
Strictly
Come Dancing is being run by the club as a fundraising venture to raise funds for the development of the new field on land recently purchased adjacent to the existing field. The construction of the field is scheduled to
commence in the Spring of 2014 resulting in a major cash call on the club over the coming months. All funds raised from this venture will be used exclusively for the development project.
A Grand Final will then be staged in conjunction with Portroe GAA Club and will be held on Sunday 20th April in a 1200 capacity marquee which will be constructed at Brian Boru on the Hill as part of an entertainment festival being run at that time.
The couples have been paired & the training has begun.
Key dates are as follows: Sat Apr 5th: Club Final; Sun Apr 20th: Grand Final with Portroe GAA Club.
The Competition – How it Works
1. One point awarded for each euro raised by the couple. The highest fundraising couple will gain automatic qualification to the Grand Final.
2. One point for each vote cast by the audience on the night. Each member of the audience will have ten votes with their entrance ticket and can purchase additional votes on the night.
3. The judges can allocate up to 1000 points to each couple based on their performance on the night and will nominate one couple for automatic qualification.
4. 6 couples to qualify for Grand Final, one place for the highest fundraiser, one place as judges’ choice, with remaining places filled by couples with highest accumulated points total.
5. Club winner will be couple with highest accumulated points total.
6. In the event of a tie highest fundraising total will decide, followed by votes on the night, followed by drawing of lots.
