Freshman Year Placement

Generation Citizen

●  An Organization that works directly in Public Schools to make sure students receive effective Action Civics Education.

●  Democracy Coaches work together with the students to find issues in the surrounding school area and try and take action to find a solution. ○  For Example: In my experience the class I worked with decided to work on adding a

speed camera on the traffic light near Port Richmond High School to promote safety for the students.

This was my first experience in the education field and started my crazy college journey.

Sophomore Year Placement

P.S.19 Assistant Teaching

●  I worked directly with Kellie Griffith, who was a former Wagner College student and a 1st Grade Teacher at P.S.19

●  Assisting in a class that was a dual language class was an extremely inspiring experience

●  I credit part of my Major switch to Kellie, because of her igniting my passion to want to become a teacher

Junior Year Placement

Wagner College Raider Office

●  The Raider Office is part of the Partnership between Wagner College and Port Richmond High School

●  Houses the Port Richmond Partnership Leadership Academy, but is open to all Port Richmond students where they can come to for college information, advice or just to hang out during a free period.

●  My time as a student in the Port Richmond Partnership made being able to give back to the next group of students was just another thing that pushed me towards the idea of becoming a teacher

Senior Year Placement

Food Recovery Network

●  Food Recovery Network is a national nonprofit that unites students at colleges and universities to fight food waste and hunger by recovering perishable food that would otherwise go to waste from their campus dining halls and donating it to those in need.

●  Working outside of a school setting was definitely a big plus for me in my final year because I wanted to expand my horizons outside of the idea of teaching.

●  Working with the Food Recovery Network has definitely made me more mindful of the food that gets wasted within my own home.

My Lasting Message

Keep your mind open and never set your mind to one thing. Follow your dreams, because whatever you set your mind to you can achieve. I never pictured that I would be on the path I am currently on, but Bonner has given me the opportunity to find a career path that I am passionate about that also allows me to pair it with another passion of mine, which is really exciting. So with that being said expand your horizons, take chances and never get complacent.
