NUMBER SB-99S-1163 SB-99S-1163 addresses Legislative travel expenses
The purpose of the Student Government Association, according to the University of North Florida's Student Government Association's Constitution and Statutes, is to "represent students in all university-wide matters," as stated in chapter 400.1 B, and;
Student interests, as well as University-wide matters, transcend beyond the limited campus nucleus to the state and federal levels, and;
The Legislative Branch consists of forty elected officials charged with the duty of "deliberating on legislation and the business of the student body," as stated in Article 2 subsection 4J the University of North Florida's Student Government Constitution, and;
In order to ensure adequate Legislative representation at Florida Student Association, a minimum of two delegates: one being the Senate President, or the Senate President's chosen designee in his/her absence, and the other(s) being delegate(s) appointed by the Senate President, and;
Appropriations shall be secured for the monthly travel expenses incurred for the Legislative branch representatives through the Annual Fiscal Budget for the Student Government and supplemented through the Student Government Unallocated Account, and;
LET IT BE ENACTED THAT THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION
UNALLOCATED ACCOUNT BE UTILIZED FOR THE EXPENSES INCURRED
THROUGH LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION TRAVEL TO THE MONTHLY FLORIDA
STUDENT ASSOCIATION MEETINGS.
