Page 15: SEMINÁŘ PRO ŽADATELE SEMINAR FOR APPLICANTS 1/10/2015 + 6/10/2015 Brno Michael Doležal.

EXAMPLE: CALCULATION OF A GRANT AMOUNT

Incoming researcher to Brno for 2 years – example:• Living allowance - LA: € 3,750 x 24 months = € 90,000• Research, training, networkin - RTN: €500 x 24 months

= €12,000• Optional contribution – OC: €1000 x 24months =

€24,000• Overheads: €500 x 24 = €12,000• REQUESTED TOTAL CONTRIBUTION (LA+RTN+OC+

overheads)= €138,000• Note: LA includes all compulsory social/health

insurance of employer/employee & tax = net income cca € 2000

Page 16: SEMINÁŘ PRO ŽADATELE SEMINAR FOR APPLICANTS 1/10/2015 + 6/10/2015 Brno Michael Doležal.

FINANCIAL REGIME

Incoming researcher to Brno for 2 years – example how an OC Optional Contribution should be calculated in the part A4

See an example on the next page:A fellow decides to spend €1000/m in the following way

– he allocates €500/m towards his salary (LA), € 300/m towards his research activities (RTN), €150/m to support a PhD student who will be a member of his research team and a lump sum of €1200 towards his reallocation costs from abroad to the Czech Republic prior to start of the project. This is all togerher €24000 spent on optional contribution.

SUMMARY – NEW MAIN FEATURES OF SOMOPRO 3

1. Research limited to the 5 research domains only2. Researchers after a career brake can apply (CAR)3. Optional contributions (€ 1000) can be used to meet

individual requests of the researcher4. Compared to SoMoPro II, each project is built around

Excellence, Impact and Implementation (5 parts reduced to 3 parts).

5. Remuneration of PhD students/team members is an eligible item (specify within OC)

6. VAT is an eligible item – in case a HI is not a VAT registered company

7. Additional 0.5 points in Impact for „newcomers“ – see page 27 GfA
