• I am an Independent Humanitarian and Development Professional providing consultancy and project management services to International Humanitarian Organisations serving the humanity during natural disasters or man made complex emergencies.

• I am a Post Graduate in Sociology with additional qualifications in Disaster Management, Engineering and Public Relations and specialised training in Appropriate Technology, Risk Management and Essentials of Humanitarian Practice.

RedR-IHE in Sri Lanka for Tsunami Relief

• Shelter Coordinator Eastern Sri Lanka for Oxfam GB. Managed a Programme to provide 1500 transitional shelters to tsunami victims. These shelters were constructed in a record time of 2.5 months and won a Presidential Trophy.

Lankan Operations. Designed a very unique self help reconstruction programme for war IDPs in Eastern Province.

Assignment for 2006• Project Manager for a very unique community

managed Housing Project funded by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and implemented by Norwegian Refugee Council in Batticaloa District of Sri Lanka. Three most important features of this project are Participatory Design, Livelihoods based building material production with in the community and totally transparent cash for work based construction management by the families. The project is in an advanced stage and is attracting the attention of many INGOs and the Government. IT has demonstrated the viability and advantages of participatory methods of development
