LEGEND
Similar to the Westside section, freight
rails in this corridor are still very active.
Thus, much of the BeltLine trial will run
separately from the transit route and
flow directly thru many residential neigh-
borhoods. At its furthest northern point,
the corridor connects into the Lindbergh
Marta station providing many commut-
ers with additional travel options.

CONTINUE north on Marietta Blvd.
RIGHT (east) on Huff Road. 1.0 mi
The BeltLine transit corridor crosses under Huff road just after Boyd Ave., and continues on to form the northern boundary of the Waterworks property. The pedestrian trail remains separated from transit through much of the Northside corridor. 33. WEST ToWN (www.brockbui l t . com/communi ty_detai l s .php?comm_id=103)West Town, conceived by the Brock Built Company (Brock Built City Neighborhoods LLC), is the largest housing development currently planned along the corridor. on 43 acres, over 1200 units – a mix of condos, apartments and single family units – will fall adjacent to the BeltLine just north of Huff road near Boyd Avenue. A town center with retail and commercial properties will also be incorporated into the development. This and other new growth will add to the activity in this community, already a popular destination point for shoppers who come to explore the large variety of antique dealers and wholesale furniture stores.
34. WATErWorkS rESErvoIr The BeltLine corridor forms the northern boundary of the Waterworks facility, which serves as a res-ervoir for the city’s water. Water from the lakes is processed and cleaned in the treatment plants across the street on Howell Mill road. In its his-tory, the Waterworks property doubled as park space.

The pedestrian trail will pass through historic Tanyard Creek Park, traveling north to connect with Bobby Jones Golf Course
35. TANyArD CrEEk PArk (www.friendsoftanyardcreekpark.org)Tanyard Creek Park was the site of The Battle of Peachtree Creek, which played a key role in At-lanta’s civil war legacy. The walking and biking path of the BeltLine is planned to flow nimbly along the edge of this greenspace complementing the rich meadow in the park that so many already enjoy.

The BeltLine transit corridor runs under Collier rd. just before Piedmont Hospital
CoLLIEr HILLS ENDS. ArDMorE BEGINS.
36. PIEDMoNT HoSPITAL (www.piedmonthospital.org)Piedmont Hospital is the largest employment cen-ter along the BeltLine corridor, which runs right behind the facility. A transit stop here would pro-vide convenient access for workers and visitors of the hospital, and help to ease some of the traffic congestion that often accumulates along Collier road.

The BeltLine transit route crosses under Peachtree Street just after friday’s restaurant (on right), and continues northeast through Peachtree Hills en route to the Lindbergh MArTA station.
37. PEACHTrEE STrEETThe BeltLine crosses under Peachtree Street just south of Bennett Street, presenting a great loca-tion for a transit stop and a connection to trans-portation along Peachtree Street, including the proposed Peacht ee Corridor Streetcar (which could lead to a combined station). Local residents and visitors to the many shops and restaurants would benefit greatly from the BeltLine’s passage through this area

PEACHTrEE HILLS ENDS. LINDBErGH/MoroSGo BEGINS.
The BeltLine transit path crosses Lindbergh Dr. from below just east of Garson Dr., sharing the MArTA right of way up to the Lindbergh MArTA station. In the Peachtree Hills community the pedestrian trail splits – one stem will go north to connect with Lindbergh station, the other will head south towards Armour Dr. 38. LINDBErGH STATIoNre-developed just a few years ago, Lindbergh Station is a lively, transit-oriented hub that fea-tures retail, restaurants, residential communities, offices, and nightlife all integrated into a pedes-trian-friendly environment built around the MArTA station. The BeltLine s connection here will be its furthest northern point and will complement the ac-tivities and amenities already in the neighborhood. The connection will offer commuters more traveling options to different places around town.

39. ArMoUr yArD (www.itsMarta.com/newsroom/armour.htm)Behind the rollins Company property on Piedmont road, and just north of the I-85 on ramp, is MAr-TA’s maintenance and storage facility for its trains. Adjacent to Armour yard are several rail lines that serve Amtrak and freight trains in addition to MARTA and the BeltLine corridor. Though no offi-cial plans are underway, discussions have circulat-ed about the opportunity for a possible strategic, multi-modal hub facilitating MArTA, the BeltLine, and local and regional commuter rail lines. Sitting adjacent to the corridor, Armour yard could also be a convenient location to house and maintain the BeltLine transit vehicles.

EXIT (right) to Armour Drive/Monroe Drive. RIGHT at end of exit ramp onto Armour Drive. 2.1 mi
The BeltLine transit corridor crosses Armour Dr. overhead.
FOLLOW Armour Dr. around long loop (road becomes Ottley Dr.) and return to I-85 ramp area on Armour Dr.
Plans propose a pedestrian trail to wind along the the west side of the Armour Dr. loop, just right of the light woods and creek area, and then head south through Brookwood Hills; after crossing below MArTA rails, the trail will turn east toward Ansley Golf Club, where it reconnects to the transit corridor.
40. ArMoUr Dr vEThe Armour Drive loop holds a diverse pocket of light-industrial businesses and other mixed-use of-fices. This area continues to grow as evidenced by the new residential complex along Armour Drive near Armour Circle, which opened in the fall of 2007 BeltLine transit and trails will give more people convenient access to this unique area.
CONTINUE straight on Armour Dr. to pass under I-85 ramp
