Sacramento State was founded in 1947 at Sacramento City College, approximately twenty minutes away, and moved to the location you are standing on today in 1952. When the founders of Sacramento State arrived at this location, there was simply a pear orchard and a hops fi eld. Over the years the University has grown into what you see today—a campus stretching 300 acres with more than 3,000 trees of 300 varieties!

We hope you fi nd the following “Self-Guided Campus Tour” informa-tive and enjoyable. We encourage you to visit us again and join us for a guided tour led by one of our Student Ambassadors. For more informa-tion and online tour registration, visit us at: www.csus.edu/admissions/campus_tours

To begin the tour, please walk toward the front of Lassen Hall and face the brightly colored Aztec mural. You can also follow the numbers on your map.
