Job Guide: Performance Review (Self Evaluation – Attachment Only) Overview This job guide outlines the steps for an Employee to complete the Annual Performance Review (Self Evaluation – Attachment Only) process in Workday. Prerequisites: The Performance Evaluation is launched each year by Human Resources & Organizational Effectiveness. The tasks will appear in employee inboxes once launched. The following employee types receive the Attachment Only Self Evaluation: o Management Levels 1-5 Chief Executive Executive Management Senior Management Administrative Management Director (includes Assistant & Associate Director) o Research Professionals – Other All other employees will receive the Self Evaluation - Staff template. Guidance on this template can be found in the Annual Performance Review (Self Evaluation - Staff) Job Guide. Important Information: Self evaluation is a good practice to reflect on accomplishments, what went well, what could have gone better, and what one may have learned over the past year. Employees should check with their Manager if a Self Evaluation is required or not. Even if the Manager does not require the self evaluation, employees MUST submit a self evaluation. Job Guide: Performance Review (Self Evaluation – Attachment Only)

OverviewThis job guide outlines the steps for an Employee to complete the Annual Performance Review (Self Evaluation – Attachment Only) process in Workday.

Prerequisites: The Performance Evaluation is launched each year by Human Resources &

Organizational Effectiveness. The tasks will appear in employee inboxes once launched.

The following employee types receive the Attachment Only Self Evaluation:

o Management Levels 1-5

Chief Executive

Executive Management

Senior Management

Administrative Management

Director (includes Assistant & Associate Director)

o Research Professionals – Other

All other employees will receive the Self Evaluation - Staff template. Guidance on this template can be found in the Annual Performance Review (Self Evaluation - Staff) Job Guide.

Important Information: Self evaluation is a good practice to reflect on accomplishments, what went well,

what could have gone better, and what one may have learned over the past year.

Employees should check with their Manager if a Self Evaluation is required or not.

Even if the Manager does not require the self evaluation, employees MUST submit a self evaluation. The self evaluation can be submitted blank.

Goals are not used on the Attachment Only Self Evaluation template.

Any questions on Performance Evaluations may be emailed to [email protected].

Required fields in Workday will be indicated with a red asterisk (*).

Screen images are representational only. The actual screen image may appear differently.

1. Navigate to the Workday Inbox.

2. Click on the Self Evaluation task in the Inbox.

3. The evaluation may be completed in one of two ways:

Guided Editor: A step-by-step guide through each section.

Summary Editor: Displays every section on a single page.

For this example, we will be using the Guided Editor.

4. The first section is Attachments. Attachments are not required.

To attach a document, click Add.

5. To select a file to attach to the evaluation, click Attach.

Note: The attachment type can be any format the Manager chooses, such as a memo, the Performance Feedback Form, or a spreadsheet. The Performance Feedback Form is located at https://employees.tamu.edu/media/346443/performance_feedback_form_102.docx.

6. Browse and select the file to attach, then click Open.

7. The file is now attached to the Evaluation.

A. Enter a Comment (optional) explaining the attachment.

B. Click the checkmark when done.

C. Click Add to add another attachment, if needed.

8. Add an overall Comment about the attachments in the Summary section.

Click Next to move to the Overall Rating page.

9. You can provide an Overall Rating for performance during the year.

A. Select a Rating (optional).

B. Enter a Comment (optional).

C. Click Next to move to the Summary page.

10. The Summary view is the same as using the Summary Editor instead of the Step-by-Step. This allows employees to review the self evaluation and make any needed changes.

Make any changes that are needed, then Click Submit to complete the Self Evaluation.

Note: Once submitted, changes may not be made unless the Manager uses the Send Back option in the Manager Evaluation.

11. The Self Evaluation is submitted. Up next is the Manager.

This completes the Attachment Only Self Evaluation business process.
