IAG-USP until 2008:IAG-USP until 2008:
- about 60 temporary stations (BB & SP seismometers) at whole country.
- most of them operating about > 2 years
IAG-USP stations until 2010IAG-USP stations until 2010
- large amount of data stored in different disks without a properly structured database.
- a lot of time and money were spent updating computer systems, disk storages and routine back-ups whithout prevent data loss.
- very hard access and share of IAG-USP data between institutions and researchers.

THE BRASIS PROJECTTHE BRASIS PROJECT
The Seismographic Integrated Network of Brazil (BRASIS) will be implemented by four institutions.
The BRASIS project will continously monitor the brazilian seismic activity by 60 broad-band stations.
BRASIS will provide waveform data in real-time, freely accessable by any brazilian researcher, encouraging scientific research and a better knowledge of brazilian seismicity, seismic risk and the structure of the crust and upper mantle.

THE BRASIS PROJECT:THE BRASIS PROJECT:
IAG-USP technicians will install 30 stations in the whole country.
BRASIS will work with Nanometrics equipaments (recently delivered):
- SeisComP3 QuakeML implementation using PostGIS database extensions could be merged to provide other data products.
- It was prototyped an OpenSource Spatial Data Infrastructure to serve and maintain some related data layers consumed and produced by us using OGC standard formats (WMS/WFS/GeoSciML).
