The purpose of these lessons we intend to do, is

to educate ourselves to obtain an understanding

the Quran and Sunnah.

The Ornament Of Knowledge Seeker

Page 8: Seeking knowledge

For this last reason, we must know that any worship has

TWO conditions:

Page 9: Seeking knowledge

1) Purity of intention, the proof of this:From Quran : (And they are ordered naught else than to serve Allah, keeping religion

pure for Him, as men by nature upright), surat al bayyinah,(98) verse 5. From sunnah : the hadeeth narrated on the authority of Umar ibn al-Khattab who

said: I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: ‘’The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended ‘’

sahih al bukhari (1).

2) Following the Quran and the sunnah, the way the prophet sws showed us, as said:

In Quran: (He who obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah . . .) surat al-Nisaa,(4) verse 80.

And in the hadeeth : “So whoever turns away from my Sunnah (i.e., way) is not from me.”

knowledge(non exhaustive list)

Page 11: Seeking knowledge

Allah praises the scholars, as He says (interpretation of the meaning): (Say: ‘Are those who know equal to those who know not?’ It is only men of understanding who will remember). Surat al-Zumar (39) verse 9 .

The Prophet sws said that seeking knowledge is a way leading to Paradise. He sws said: (Whoever follows a path in the pursuit of knowledge, Allah will make a path to Paradise easy for him.) (Al-Bukhari).

Knowledge brings a great reward. The one who points the way to something good is like the one who does it. When the knowledgeable person dies, his reward with Allah does not cease when he dies, rather it continues to increase so long as people benefit from his knowledge. The Prophet sws) said: (When a man dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three – an ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge or a righteous son who will pray for him.) Narrated by Muslim, 1631

Proper understanding of Islam is one of the best of good characteristics with which a Muslim may be honored, as the Prophet sws) said: (When Allah wishes good for a person, He makes him understand the religion.) (Agreed upon).
