Rev. Noah Simpe Bediako | Bishop, HIGHCITY CHURCH

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Daniel knew the power and important of prayer to life and not even the teeth of hungry lions could deter him from keeping his prayer schedule. In much that same way today’s believer must arise to the daily practice of prayer.

Prayer is actually the breath of the Christian. It is the force on which the Christian life moves and thrives. Without it, the Christian will dry out and wither. This explains why when the Christian quits praying, he dries up. Sincere prayer brings about the freshness that life in the spirit requires. It is our connection to God and the power of heaven. In Luke 18:1, our Lord Jesus taught us to pray always, and not to faint. Unceasing prayer was His secret to the successes on earth-It His custom to pray daily.

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

He actually took time off His busy schedule to pray. A day will not end without Jesus praying. He would sometimes continue in prayer till the next day. He was devoted to daily fellowship and communion with the Father.

Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

The apostle Paul, a man of prayer wrote to us in I Thessalonians 5:17 that we should pray without ceasing. He actually taught the church to pray without ceasing.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Why would this apostle have the church

pray without ceasing? Why would he not just have us to pray for 10minutes every Sunday morning? Why does Jesus want us to prayer, and not get tired?

PRAYER HELPS THE BELIEVER TO SQUARELY HANDLE EVERY VENOM THAT THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS RELEASES FROM HELL AGAINST OUR LIFE, OUR ASSIGNMENT, AND OUR PURPOSE TO WALK IN STEP WITH THE LIGHT2 Corinthians 10:3-4For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Nothing is more explicit than this. Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. If we do not war after the flesh then with what do we war?

Ephesians 6:10-13Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

We war against a system of darkness: Principalities, powers, rulers of darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness. The agents, powers, and influence of this brutal kingdom of darkness and wickedness stand against you. They are against anything godly and Christian. Beloved without unceasing prayer, there is very little we can achieve.

SECONDLY, PRAYER HELPS THE BELIEVER TO HANDLE

THE OPPOSITION THAT THE WORLD, HER ELEMENTS, AND THE PRINCIPLES THAT GOVERN HER PRESENTS.The world, her elements, and principles are often moved against the saint.

1. The World This comprises of her glamour, her lust, her deceits, her glories are often employed as baits to trap the child of God.

2. The Elements Of The WorldWater, wind, land, nature etc- could be moved against the church. Think of floods, storms, quakes and tremors, landslides, wild animals,

insect: where do they come from? Why are they sent?

3. The Principles Of The WorldTime, gravity, money, degeneration- these things sometime limits how far we can go.

THIRDLY, PRAYER COMPENSATES FOR HUMAN FRAILTIESFactually, there is;

1. The Reality Of Human LimitationAs men living in the body we are limited in

Concerning routine prayer, no man aside Christ himself is a better example than Daniel. Have you read of the famous Daniel in the Lion’s den story? Well it was a result of his commitment to seek God daily and rely on the power of daily prayer.

Page 3: SEED FOR TODAY - NOVEMBER, 2013

certain senses. Prayer however lifts us above those limitations.

2. The Reality Of Human Error: Mistakes, oversight, and misinterpretations

3. The Reality Of Human CarnalityThe carnal craving of the flesh (See Romans 7:18; I Corinthians 9:27)

4. The Reality Of Human NatureThis refers to ungratefulness, forgetfulness and wickedness

PRAYER IS THE ONLY HOPE Beloved, life is painful but with prayer, we come over. Our prayers connect us to God who according to Ephesians 2:30 can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think. He would however wait until we ask. (Matthew 7:7)

Prayer actually leads the saint to the throne of grace-the place we go for help in the day of need when we are overwhelmed by the events of life.

Hebrew 4:16 (Darby)Let us approach therefore with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and find grace for seasonable help.

Many great leaders have found prayer as a helpful resource. Many great people I have read from have shown how prayer have been the greatest resource they have used. Abraham Lincoln, a former president America is quoted to have once said “I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go”His testimony alludes to the truth that the need to pray is born in the heart of every man whether they are small or great. The secret to successful prayer that move mountains and produce results has however eluded many.

WHY SHOULD YOU PRAY?Pray because it is the will of God for you in Christ

1YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE IT IS THE WILL OF GOD IN CHRIST JESUS CONCERNING YOU…

You must pray without ceasing, in all things (good or bad) give thanks: for this is the will of God…

Many of us want to know the will of God concerning us. Well, the will of God concerning us in Christ Jesus is for us to pray without ceasing, and to give thanks in everything.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Often I hear people saying “Pastor, I have done everything and now I’m even confused. I do not even know what to do under the circumstances.” Well whatever the circumstances or situation, the will of God concerning you is for you to pray and give thanks.

2YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE IT IS THE VERY LAST AND VITAL APPEAL JESUS CHRIST MADE…You should pray because, the call to prayer is one of the very last and vital appeals that no other person than the Lord Jesus Christ himself make to the church, his disciples. He establishes very clearly that until the time of making the appeal, his disciples and apostles had not prayed in his name but a ti-me was coming and now is that they were going to have to depend on prayer.

And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.(John 16:23-24)

This is the day when we ought to pray.

3YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON PRAYER…Much as you cannot breath enough, you can not pray enough either. Pray is to the Christian as breath is to humans. Prayer is the breath of the child of God. Indeed, there is nothing such as I have prayed enough. The call to prayer made

by both the Lord Jesus Christ and his apostles suggest that prayer is as important as breathing itself. Our very existence of children of God depends on it.

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; (Luke 18:1)

What are we just reading? The Lord spoke a parable to the effect that men, all men ought always to pray and not to faint. In effect, he is saying to us that “pray always or you faint”. Unless we can pray always, we shall faint, fail, weaken, collapse or eventually die.

4YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER PRODUCES POWERAnd Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. (Luke 4:14)

5YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER PRODUCES BROKENNESS

6YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER RESTORES BEAUTY AND GLORYI have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. (Isaiah 62:6-7)

7YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER RELEASES THE MANIFESTATION OF THE HOLY SPIRITAnd when they had prayed, the place was

shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31)

8YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER AVERTS EVIL AND CALAMITYAnd I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD. (Ezekiel 22:30-31)

9YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER OVERCOMES SATANFinally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; (Ephesians 6:10-18)

10YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER PRODUCES HEALING AND DELIVERANCEAnd the LORD appeared to Solomon by

night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:12-14)

11YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER PRODUCES SPIRITUAL SENSITIVITY, UNDERSTANDING, AND REVELATIONCall unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3)

12YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER PRODUCES PEACE OF MIND AND HEARTBe careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

13YOU SHOULD PRAY BECAUSE PRAYER PRODUCES ANSWERS AND SOLUTIONS

Prayer isn’t a last resort to turn in to in an emergency but an essential part of our daily life. It is impossible to isolate

the practice of prayer from the rest of life. Life itself runs on prayer. There are times when many things fall in place for us and we are ignorant of the truth that someone is in touch with God on our behalf. It is in this truth that we learn that. It

is the means by which men are moved to ask for the will of the immortal God and yield our members as instruments of righteousness. Prayer is not a means of getting God to do what we want on earth

Remember! Prayer is not a cosmic bell which button we must press every day to which God as a cosmic bell boy must respond. It is rather our ministry as servants taking instructions, receiving strength, stay in communion with the supreme God.

Prayer is an act in secret that yield the public manifestation. We shall do much more in public if we do much more in secret. Never forget that manifestation is the public spectacle that results from the practice of secret prayer. If you see a pregnant woman, they did not become pregnant just because they saw you. They are pregnant because of something they have done before. What one thing do Jesus practiced in secret that brought Him to great power.

For the purposes of practicing prayer and not just learning about prayer, I want to define the art of prayer in three main dimensions;

PRAYER AS AN ACT OF MAKING YOUR REQUEST KNOWN TO GODPhilippians 4:6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

This kind of prayer involves three main

elements and dimensions: prayer (worship), supplication (petition, asking, or pleadings) and then the third element is thanksgiving (gratitude, offering, and appreciation). This is one kind of prayer that the believer must daily make. This kind of prayer is directed to God. In this kind of prayer you are making your request know unto God. We see this kind of prayer in Acts 4. The Early Church gave us a good example.

The Early Church Acts 4:23-31And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.(24) And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, (See the prayer and worship part of the request:)Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:(25) Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?(26) The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.

(27) For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,(28) For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.(Here we move to the supplication

or petition part)(29) And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,(30) By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.(31) And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled

together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

The underlined is their oratory or declaration of what the Lord had done in the past. They the assembled believers declared their faith in the Lord. They recalled the word and based their faith for petition on the history of scripture. The bold part is the supplication. They petitioned and pleaded their case stating clearly what they desired of the Lord Almighty.

In making your request known to God you must be able to worship and declare your faith and confidence to God.

Let us examine Daniel’s prayer in Daniel 9.

Daniel’s PrayerYou will observe that Daniel began with declaring his faith in God. He declared the goodness and justice of God.

Daniel 9:1-22In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;(2) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.(3) And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:(This is the prayer (oratory or worship) part)(4) And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;(5) We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:(6) Neither have we hearkened unto thy

servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.(7) O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.(8) O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.(9) To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;(10) Neither have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.(11) Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.(12) And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.(13) As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth.(14) Therefore hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.(15) And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly.(Here is the supplication or petition part:)(16) O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us.(17) Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake.(18) O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is

Never forget that manifestation is the public spectacle that results from the practice of secret prayer

Prayer is the art of speaking or communing with God.

called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.(19) O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.(20) And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God;(21) Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.(22) And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding.

This is the standard format or plan of prayer.

The Lord PrayerLet us consider the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6: 9-13 After this manner therefore pray ye: (This is the prayer or worship part:)Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.(And here is the supplication or petition part:)(10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in

earth, as it is in heaven.(11) Give us this day our daily bread.(12) And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.(13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: (This one has the thanksgiving part:)For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

This is typically how you can make your request known to God and receive 100% answers to your prayer. This prayer as an act of making a plea or a request. This is the act of making specific pleas either ourselves or for others. Our Lord Jesus taught us to begin all making of request with an oratory or declaration of faith.

PRAYER AS AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL WARFARE2 Corinthians 10:3-6For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(4) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)(5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity

every thought to the obedience of Christ;(6) And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. This is the act of

1. Binding and losing, 2. Engaging territorial powers3. Wresting with principalities and powers4. Exercise dominion and subduing powers

The Bible tells us that we wrestle not flesh and blood, but against principalities and power…

Ephesians 6:10-12Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.(11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.(12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in

high places.

Every Christian must learn the prayer of binding and losing. You must engage the powers of darkness in spiritual battle.

PRAYER AS AN ACT OF MINISTERING TO PEOPLEThis is praying over people. This is when you are;

1. Praying for the sick or better still over the sick2. Casting out devils3. Imparting the gifts and power of the Holy Ghost

We say a prayer for them, declaring our faith and what we desire to see for them. This kind of prayer is not directed to God. This prayer is speaking to the situation and exercising faith an authority. In ministering to the sick, the elders pray over the sick. this is the prayer of faith; it is not prayer for babes but for the spiritually

matured.

James 5:14-15Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:(15) And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. We see a typical kind in the ministry of Jesus Christ.

The Fig TreeWe see it in Mark 11:12-26And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:(13) And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.(14) And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.(15) And they come to Jerusalem: …(20) And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.(21) And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.(22) And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.(23) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.(24) Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.(25) And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.(26) But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Raising LazarusLet us examine our Lord’s Prayer at the tomb of Lazarus in John 11:41-43Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.(42) And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.(43) And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. This prayer is two in one prayer. It is both

the making of a request and the ministering of prayer, which I would explain soon. Looking intently at the verse 41 and 42, you can see the making of request. Our Lord Jesus firstly declared his faith and confidence in God before making a request, then he spoke to Lazarus’ dead body as if Lazarus could hear him. Indeed Lazarus heard him and came forth. It seen clearly again in ministering to the lame man at Lystra

The Lame Man At LystraActs 14:7-10And there they preached the gospel.(8) And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who never had walked:(9) The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,(10) Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

The Apostle spoke to the man, commanding the man. Apostle Paul did not pray to God he spoke to the man and the man obeyed.

HOW TO CAST OUT DEVILSThis is how you cast out devilsIn healing Simon’s mother in-law, Jesus stood over her and rebuked the fever. He did not pray to God, he rebuked the fever.

Luke 4:38-41(38) And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.(39) And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.Read this too:(40) Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.(41) And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ

THE ANSWERS WE DESIRE, IT WILL TAKE OUR UNFEIGNED PERSONAL FAITH TO RECEIVE THEM.The God kind of faith is the one that is able to create “the seen” from “the unseen.” The God kind of faith creates from the unseen. After the heaven and earth were created the earth was without form and was void but God continued to speak the word into the situation. The situation and circumstances under which the earth was formed did not discourage God. Rather, He continued to speak the creation of which he foresaw.

The faith that obtains answers is the one that will not weaken in face of challenges and difficult times, but rather would maintain the confession it inspires. As we stand in prayer, there are times when the situation suggests conditions contrary to our expectation. Sometimes the more we prayer the worse the situation seem to get but faith remain strong even under difficult to secure the results we anticipate.

PRAYING THE GOD KIND OF PRAYERThis is the act of asking or speaking to situations, and accepting without doubt that whatsoever you have asked, without fail happen.

James 5:16-18 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he

prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.

THE GOD KIND OF PRAYER IS EFFECTUALIt is free from vanity and superfluity. God disdains vain repetition and overabundance of dramatizing.

THE GOD KIND OF PRAYER IS FERVENTIt is ardent, passionate, fanatical, importunate-will stay until something happens. It does not take no for an answer

THE GOD KIND OF PRAYER IS RIGHTEOUSIt is of faith. It is biblical. It is driven by the nature of God.

PURSUING THE GOD KIND OF ACTIONThough God has promised to feed us as he does the ravens and clothe us as he does the lilies, he would not bring the food and clothes to our homes, after all he does not take it to their nest. Faith must have her own works. Faith without works is dead.

James 2:19-26 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him

for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

HAVING THE GOD KIND OF PATIENCEWhen Jesus Christ cursed the fig tree, it did not wither there and then; it was on the morrow that they saw the effect. You have need of the patience of God to see many of the answers. One thing praying men should never ignore in life is times and seasons, because of the relationship between Time and fulfillment. Certain things happen

IN DUE TIME1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

AT THE APPOINTED TIMEHebrews 2:3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

ACCORDING TO THE TIME OF LIFE2 Kings 4:17 according to the time of life.

Jesus upon seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might

find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. And they come to Jerusalem: …

In the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

It is clear from the text that there is a place in life where

we can possess everything we desire by the power of prayer. The truth projected here is that once we have the God kind of faith, we can receive whatsoever we desire by simply praying about them.

The keys to answered prayer are:

1. Possessing the God kind of desire2. Having the God kind of faith3. Praying the God kind of prayer4. Pursuing the God kind of action5. Exercising the God kind of patience

POSSESSING THE GOD KIND OF DESIREPrayer warriors that see answers are those who are driven by desire and hunger. Jesus always received answers because he was hungry for change. He was not satisfied with mediocrity because others accepted it. He was inspired to crave for the best and not the rest. Your

prayers will make impact if they are driven by desires stirred up by the spirit of God. Learn from the example of creating the world, God was stirred up by his spirit to create the universe. At that time nobody had created a universe, at least none I know of but God purpose to create the universe. This desire moved the eternal God to speak them into being, hence the world. Before you ever go into prayer, you must incubate hunger and desire. The motivation for prayer need be hunger for the supernatural and nothing more. Hunger actually spices up prayer and gives it the tenacity and importunity it requires. Our lord Jesus in his exhortation to the disciples to outline the key to obtaining answers to prayer clearly prefixes his teaching with the preamble “What things so ever you desire…” Desire therefore is key and pivotal to answered prayer.

HAVING THE GOD KIND OF FAITH

This is an unfeigned personal faith devoid of doubt. Doubt is a thief; it steals the potency of faith. A faith that accepts as true the things it says.

THE FIRST MYSTERY IS THAT YOU CAN RECEIVE THIS FAITH ONLY THROUGH THE HEARING OF THE EN-GRAFTED WORD OF GOD. Faith is not actually the word of God but a nature of God that implants itself into the being of a man via the word of grace. In Rom 10:17, we read that faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith and the word of God are two things. Faith actually is drawn from the word. As we listen, repeatedly and again the word of God faith, which is the seed of God nature, implants itself in our being.

THE SECOND MYSTERY IS, THOUGH ANOTHER PERSON’S FAITH CAN RELEASE

Many years ago, something happened in the Middle East that brought to bear some secrets by which men can move mountains. According to the testimony of Mark, one of the disciples of Jesus Christ written in Mark chapter 11 verses 12-14, 20-24 one morning, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

REV. NOAH SIMPE BEDIAKO

If you do not know

as your Savior and Lord, simply pray the following prayer in faith,

and Jesus will be your Lord!

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” and “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and

thou shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”

(Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9). You said my salvation will be the

result of Holy Spirit giving me new birth by coming to live in

me (John 3:5-6, 15-16; Romans 8:9-11) and that if I would ask,

You would fill me with Your Spirit and give me the ability to speak with other tongues (Luke

11:13; Acts 2:4)

I take You at Your Word. I confess that Jesus is Lord. And I believe in my heart that You raised Him from

the dead. Thank You for coming into my heart, for giving me your Holy

Spirit as You have promised and for being Lord over my life. Amen.
