Social media is a game changer; it's "word of mouth on steroids", the "shift of power from the media elite to the masses", the "democratisation of the ability to communicate to the world”.

An implication of social media is that, like a novel by Kafka, we've all woken up as de facto media outlets, an alien world.

So the question is: what kind of media outlets do we want to be?
