(c) Pieces of 3 yards in length, in compressed pac­kets, measuring in all ap­proximately * 1,450,000 yards.

Approximate total quantity 3,539,000 yards.

II. DEPARTMENT OF POSTS AND TELEGRAPHS.

TENDER FOR EXCAVATION OF TRENCHES ETC.

Tenders are invited for the work of ex­cavating and filling in trenches for under­ground telephone cables along the Mamilla and Jericho roads, Jerusalem, for the Depart­ment of Posts and Telegraphs.. The work con­sists of excavation and filling of approxi­mately 4000 metres of trench.

2. Intending tenderers should apply to the office of the Divisional Engineer South, Posts and Telegraphs, Jerusalem, for specifications and forms of tenders not later than the 5th January, 1947. A fee of £P.2 will be charged for each such specification.

3. As a guarantee of good faith, tenderers are required to forward as a deposit with their tender a cheque in the amount of £P.25 endorsed by a well-known bank in Palestine.

4. In case of the successful tenderer only the amount of £P.25 being the fee for the specifi­cation will be placed to his credit, bringing up his deposit to £P.27—.

5. The Postmaster General does not bind himself to accept the lowest, or- any tender. The envelope containing the tender should be plainly marked "Tender for Excavation of Trenches" and should reach the President, De­partmental Tenders Board, General Post Office, Jerusalem, not later than 10, ,a.m. on the 10th January, 1947.
