Choosing the RPL pathway for an ACS IT skill assessment requires you to become familiar with the sections to write this report. It is because this report is more challenging and demanding than other competency reports.
So, here, in this article, we have provided a clear idea of the sections that are given by experts to write an excellent RPL report for ACS IT skill assessment. However, before you become familiar with these sections, we want to you have a crystal-clear idea of what an RPL ACS report is.
RPL REPORT: The RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) report is a competency report, allowing those with non-ICT qualifications to show their work experience, skills and knowledge gained by working in real situations to the Australian Computer Society for assessment.
It’s a must for you to submit two projects along with your RPL application. The two sections of the ACS RPL report are Key Areas of Knowledge and RPL Project Report. Let’s know about both of them clearly:
SECTIONS OF THE RPL ACS REPORT:
The section of Key Areas of Knowledge has been developed from the ACS Core Body of Knowledge as a guide for an application who is without a formal ICT qualification equivalent to an Australian Degree or Diploma but spent a substantial period of time in professional-level ICT employment and want to apply for an ICT Skill Assessment by means of the RPL assessment process.
SECTION 1: KEY AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE:
ESSENTIAL CORE ICT KNOWLEDGE:
Topic 1: ICT Professional Knowledge Subtopics are Ethics, Professional Expectations, Teamwork Concepts and issues, Societal Issues and Communication. Topic II – ICT Problem Solving Subtopics are Modelling methods, Process to understand issues, Methods and tools for handling abstraction
Topic III – Technology Resources Subtopics are Hardware and Software Fundamentals, Data Communications and Networking, Data and Information Management, Topic IV – Technology Building Subtopics are Programming, Human Factors, Information Systems Development and Acquisition Topic V – ICT Management Subtopics are IT Governance and Organizational Issues, IT Project Management, Security Management and ICT Service Management
B: GENERAL ICT KNOWLEDGE:
Project Summary
You need to submit two reports; one of them must be the project taken up within the last three years, and the other one must be of the project taken up within the last five years. We have provided below the key points you need to explain in both of the projects for an ACS skill assessment.
1. Roles and responsibilities in the project according to the ANZSCO Code 2. Business Opportunity or Problem Description of the business opportunity or issues addressed in this project
Discussion regarding contribution to the solution, project or engagement Description of Design or issue- solving methods that were used in this project The key deliverable of the project
Implementation of solution Lessons learned Evaluation of the overall failure or success of the project
