National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The Week runs from 27 May to 3 June every year. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey – the successful 1967 referendum and the High Court Mabo decision. Visit www.reconciliation.org.au for information and ideas on how to celebrate National Reconciliation Week this year. Updated Emergency Contacts Please ensure that the school office has up to date contact details for all parents/carers. We also require two emergency contact numbers for people who may be contacted to collect your child should they need to go home sick if the parents/carers are unable to be contacted. Please phone the office to update your details. Seahorse Tales Woolgoolga Public School TERM 2 ISSUE 5 28 th May 2020 National Simultaneous Storytime 2020 On Wednesday classes at WPS participated in the annual National Simultaneous Storytime along with thousands of other school children nationwide. This year the picture book was the very colourful and fun, ‘Whitney and Britney Chicken Divas’ written by Australian author and illustrator, Lucinda Gifford. The story is a sparkly and hilarious story about two chickens who sleep by day but turn into jazz singers at night. This great initiative supports reading and children’s literacy.
