General information Date: 21 st August 2016 Venue: Sea Palling Beach Address: Beach Road Sea Palling NR12 0AL Registration: Open between 06.30-07.10hrs Race Briefing: To be held near REGISTRATION at 07.15hrs Event Start: Commencement 08.00hrs Parking: On race day, both athletes and spectators are to park in the large field car park on Clink Road (see map), this is also where Registration will be held.

Registration
• RegistrationwilltakeplaceinthefieldcarparkonClinkRoad,whichwillbe clearly signposted. At registration please give your full name to thestaffmemberandtheywillcheckyouinandgiveyouyourracenumber.
• You will also receive a Positive Sport silicone swim cap for the event,whichisbrightyellowforsafety.
• Atregistrationyouwillalsobemarkedupforyourswim.• Pleasebeawarethatwhencrossingthefinishline,pleaseshowandshout
yourracenumberouttothemarshalswhoaretimingyouandcheckingyoubackinfromthewater.

• Theracebriefingwill takeplaceneartotheREGISTRATIONareaonthefarcornerofthefieldcarpark,at07.15hrsprompt
• Theracebriefingiscompulsoryandwillcoveralltheracedetailsandanyfurtherimportantinformationandoccurrencesontheday.
• Theroutewillbeexplainedtoyouincludinganyrestrictionsandpotentialhazardsonthecourseitself.
• The event has been risk assessed to identify potential hazards. Controlmeasures are in placewith the RNLI Lifeguards covering all aspects ofwatersafety.Itisyourresponsibilitytorespecttheopenwaterandassessyour competency in the water with conditions on the day. Abuse ofsafety measures may result in disqualification from the race forsafetyreasons.
RaceNumbers
• Yourracenumberwillbewritteninwaterproofpenonthebackofyourhand. When exiting the water, (whether during the event for safetyreasons,oratthefinishline),pleasemakesureyoushowthebackofyourhandtoamarshalatthefinishlineandshoutyournumberoutclearly,sothattheycanhearyoutowritedownyournumberandfinishtime.
PostRaceBriefing• FollowingRaceBriefing,thereisawalkupthebeachfromthecarparkto
thestartlineofapprox.1km.• Althoughthereisaroadwhichrunsalongthebackofthedunesandcan
getclosetothefirstbeach/startline,wedonotadviseusingthisroad,astherearenocarparksfurtherdownandtheroadisonlythewidthofonecar.
SWIM1Mile(TideAssisted)
• Thisisawetsuitmandatoryswimevent.• Theswimentrywillcommencewithanen-massstart,betweenthe first
andsecondrockreefswitharundownthebeach(approx.50m).• Once in thewateryouwillheadstraightout towherethe firstYELLOW
markerbuoyislocated.Goaroundtheleftsideofthebuoyturningright,swimmingdownparallelwiththebeach,untilyoureachthelastmarkerbuoy.
• WhenyoupasstheORANGEmarkerbuoy,youhavereachedthelastbuoyanditstimetoheadtothebeachtothefinishline.
• The finish line will be a small run up the beach towards the RNLILifeguardstation.
• Upon exiting thewater andpleasemake your race number clear to themarshals so that they can check you off the list as exiting the sea.Marshalsonthefinishlinewillthentakeyournumbertocompleteyourswimtime.
• Don’tforgettocollectyourfinishersmedal!SWIMRULES
• You are only permitted to swim Frontcrawl or Breaststroke during theevent.
• Should you get into any difficulty or need assistance from the RNLIlifeguards,pleaseraiseyourarmupashighasyoucanintheair,orswimBackstroke(which indicatesyourequireassistance),andtheywillcomestraightovertoyou.
• If youneed toexit thewater for any reason,pleasemake sure that youcheck-inwithamarshalthatyouhavedonesobeforeleaving,soarenotamissingpersonattheendoftheevent!

Spectators
• Spectators and supporters are very much welcome to come along andenjoytheevent,asitalladdstoagreatatmosphere.
• Please adhere to any requests from race marshals and officials at alltimes.

• All results will be on-line by Sunday evening following the race, atwww.positivesport.co.uk.
