SEÑA ON TOP OF THE WORLD November 2014 Seña 2012 was awarded 98 points and selected Top 10 of the World by James Suckling, a historical achievement for a Chilean wine. “Great winemaking doesn’t just happen in Italy, Bordeaux or California; my visits to different wine-producing countries throughout my career have shown me that other countries are on par with these top regions, and their different terroirs really give some unique results. Great Wines of the World is my chance to share wines that I’ve found to be the best on a global scale”. - James Suckling. After selecting only those wines rated above 96points, which include that special “wow” factor that catches his attention, the Top100 list is headed by the following ten, being Seña the only Chilean wine: 1. Viña Cobos Malbec Perdriel Luján de Cuyo Cobos 2011, Argentina 2. Penfolds Shiraz South Australia Grange Bin 95 2010 3. Masseto Toscana 2011, Italy 4. Château Guiraud Sauternes 2011, France 5. This was the 5th event carried out in partnership by James Suckling and Zachys, NY’s finest wine merchant, and only included 50 wineries from Chile and Argentina. Given these outstanding achievements, Seña was invited to participate in his main events of the year: The first was “ The Great Wines of the World ”, organized by jamessuckling.com and the luxury magazine Hong Kong Tatler.
