1 Sea B | www.seabmusic.com | [email protected]1 SEA B - BIOGRAPHY Famed singer/songwriter Sea B is back on the music scene with a brand new album! “Journey Through Space & Time” bridges the generation gap between young and seasoned music lovers. The exceptional album is a perfect blend of reggae, rhythm and blues, with just a hint of soul. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Barry Marrah often visited Gordon Town—an area near his hometown of Kingston—and acquired a passion for music. The young Sea B began to save up his lunch money to buy records. Shortly after attending Excelsior High School, Sea B migrated to Miami in 1973. While attending college, Sea B met individuals that would not only become his band mates but also lifelong friends. The #1 reggae group in South Florida, Roots Uprising, was formed years after their meeting with Sea B in college. The band’s musicians included: Sea B, Teddy Greeves, Raynor Washington, Winston Marrah, Richard Bryce and Bentley Ray. Their first recording, a cover of Stevie Wonder’s “Master Blaster (Jammin’)”, propelled the band’s recognition in the music industry. Sea B credits his experience in the band, for his improved vocal and saxophone skills. Music was always a key part of Sea B’s life. Heavily influenced by the likes of Earth, Wind and Fire, Aretha Franklin, and Count Basie, Sea B draws upon different music icons to create his own sound. He is dedicated to making quality live music with universal appeal. During his hiatus, the singer/songwriter continued working and creating new music. After the success of his first album, Sea B put in years of work to create his latest album. While Sea B’s love for creating music never died, his corporate career took precedence above other activities. With long nights, early mornings and countless songwriting revisions, Sea B’s creative process for this album was challenging but all the while satisfying. Sea B draws upon the admiration of a woman’s strength for the first single off his new album, “Walk With You.” The song is inspired by a woman care giver in Gordon Town who washed her laundry at a river. While observing the mother figure, Sea B noticed a younger woman with a similar demeanor that also piqued his interest. He asks the second woman, “Can I walk with you? Can I talk with you and get to know you better?” Along his musical journey, Sea B has gained experience, maturity and wisdom, which he uses in “Journey Through Space & Time.” The album shines as a glimmer of hope in the Jamaican music scene, providing beautiful lyrical content with a positive message. Sea B worked alongside former band mates as well as new musicians on the project. Guitarist Ronnie Moses provided the guitar, keyboards and played an intrical role in the production of the album. Multi-Grammy award winning producer Paul Faqhourie also contributed to the inimitable album. The singer teamed up with notable producer Fabian Cooke for this latest album. Cooke gets his acclaim from working with artists like Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff and Tone Loc – just to name a few. The producer’s most notable work includes “Hakuna Matata” on the “Lion King Rhythm of the Pack” soundtrack. “Journey Through Space & Time” is set to be a game changer in the music industry!
