The case of Social Entrepreneurship : a sector with unlimited potential

A sector seriously considered :

• Many laws are on the go woldwide to sustain social entrepreneurship :

In Europe, In the US even in Tahiti.

• The financial tools to support social entrepreneurs are expanding :

Impact Investors, Foundations, Crowdfunding, etc.

• A growth of organizations dedicated to its promotion :

events, summits, gatherings, conferences, dedicated media

A very dynamic sector, attractive for the Youth & the entrepreneurs :

• 9% under 30 y.o. are employed in it ;

• 3000 000 of volunteers in France ;

• 1/4 of the enterprises created go social in Europe.

2

Page 3: SE Keynote [En]

A huge lack of image :

• A very closed sector :

historical actors, business schools, big corportations & politics ;

• Only 1/10 of the worlwide population is aware of what is social entrepreneurship ;

• A concept in a binary interpretation : Business VS Social.

The Entrepreneurs are isolated, unprepared with iniqualities to get support :

• The existing solutions are not good enough to sustain the social entrepreneurs on the long run :

trainning, brainstorming, hard selection process.

• The competencies between the North and the South are widening as regard of the capacity bulding programs. 3

The case of Social Entrepreneurship : a sector remaining with big challenges to be solved
