The Unseen Path of 2017 Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct the path.” We have a new year before us. No one knows the path that lies ahead in 2017. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us that our faith should be focused on the Lord because He does know what lies ahead for each one of us. As we trust the Lord we must avoid the tempta- on to lean on our own understanding. When we think we can handle life without the Lord, then all we are le with is our own knowledge which is dangerous to follow. We must make it a habit to pray about everything in our life. Let me also challenge you to read the Bible through in 2017. With prayer and the Word of God we can be certain that God will guide our path in 2017. I look forward to serving the church and the Lord. The Unseen Path of 2017
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine
own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall
direct the path.”
We have a new year before us. No one knows the path that
lies ahead in 2017. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us that our faith should be
focused on the Lord because He does know what lies ahead for
each one of us. As we trust the Lord we must avoid the tempta-
'on to lean on our own understanding. When we think we can
handle life without the Lord, then all we are le* with is our own
knowledge which is dangerous to follow.
We must make it a habit to pray about everything in our
life. Let me also challenge you to read the Bible through in 2017.
With prayer and the Word of God we can be certain that God will
guide our path in 2017. I look forward to serving the church and
the Lord.
God Bless,
Brother Guy

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas! December has been a fun month for us this year! We started out the month going Christmas caroling with the church on a Wednesday night to 4 different Nursing homes. It was a cold night, but it was a joy for everyone. We had two big events this month with the Youth. The first event we had was the Youth Christmas party. We had about 30 students come out and it was a lot of fun! At the party, we had an Ugly Sweater contest and a white ele-phant gift exchange. The winner of the Ugly Sweater contest was Abby Kluttz, with her snowman Donald Trump sweater. For New Year’s Eve we went to First Baptist Church of Fulton and teamed up with them and Centennial Baptist Church for a party. We had be-tween 70 and 80 students in total come out. We started off with some Student led worship, along with a couple of students sharing their testimonies, includ-ing our own Nick Douglas! After the music and testimonies were over we had some pizza and then moved on to playing some games. We played Underground Church for a good portion of the night! We ended the night by watching a movie and having a
countdown for the New Year! It was a great way to end 2016 and begin 2017. Now that the New Year has started we are working on planning new stuff for this year! Our next big thing with the Youth Group will be Win-ter Jam which is coming up on January 28th. We will head to St. Louis for the day and see some great bands and speakers that night! As bring in the new year, we are looking forward to another semes-ter of fun with the Children’s minis-tries. TeamKID will be starting back up
on January 11th. We could still use more volunteers on Wednesday nights for TeamKID. Our youngest class has grown so much that we actually need to split them into two groups. Right now, unfortunately we do not have enough volun-teers to do that, so for now the younger kids, ages 3 and 4, will be going into the nursery. If you’re not available Wednesday nights, we can also use more volunteers Sunday morning for Children’s church! Please be in prayer for all of these kids and these teachers as we reach out to share the gospel that many might come to be saved. If you feel led to help with the Children’s programs, I would love to talk with you and see how we can get you plugged in! I believe 2017 will be a great year at Southside Baptist Church!
