1-Introduction

We are going to visit Scotland this year, from 10 June 2013 until 18 June 2013.

Scotland is a country that is part of the United Kingdom.Occupying the northern third of the island of Great Britain, it shares a border with England to the south and is bounded by the North Sea to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the north and west, and the North Channel and Irish Sea to the southwest.

• In addition to the mainland, Scotland is made up of more than 790 islands including the Northern Isles and the Hebrides.

1.1-Travel Information

• We are going from Malaga to Edimburgh on 10 June 2013. We will take off at 11:40 from Malaga airport, and we are going to land in Edimburgh at 18:10

• We are going to travel with «Air Scotland» and the cost in total is 180,90 euros.

• When we will arrive in Edimburgh we are going to rent a car for 8 days. We will rent a Kia Picanto for about 60 euros.

2-Information about the country.

• The languages spoken today or in the past in Scotland are divided into two families: Celtic languages and Germanic languages . The only Celtic language which is still preserved in Scotland is the Scottish Gaelic, spoken in parts of the Highlands and in the Hebrides but had previously spoken in much wider areas.

• RELIGION

Since the Scottish Reformation in 1560, the Church of Scotland, also known as The Kirk, became Scotland's national church. It is a Calvinist Protestant Church and a Presbyterian system of organization, and enjoys independence from the state.

• GASTRONOMY

Scotland's cuisine shares many of the characteristics of English cuisine, but with some features and own food, often derived from its history and foreign influences. In general, Scottish cuisine is characterized by its simplicity, using indigenous natural products (dairy, meat, fish, fruits and vegetables) and giving up the spices and herbs. Ex: Scotch broth.

• ECONOMY

Although the Bank of England is the central bank of the UK, three Scottish banks still have the power to produce their own banknotes: the Bank of Scotland, Royal Bank of Scotland and the Clydesdale Bank. The value of the Scottish banknotes in circulation is estimated at 1,500 million pounds.

• The Scottish territory covers 78,772 km2, and its population is estimated at 5,116,900 inhabitants, giving a population density of 65 inhabitants per km2. The capital is Edinburgh, while Glasgow is the largest city and metropolitan area concentrates 40% of the Scottish population.

3.planning for the trip

We will land in Edinburgh, we will stay 8 days in Scotland. We will visit the numerous castles and gardens that exist there.

We think to stay the first 2 days in Edinburgh.

DAY 1

We land there about 18:00, To begin to know the city nothing better that visit the tourist attraction most visited of Scotland, the Castle of Edinburgh.

The visit to this castle lasts 3 hours, the visit includes the chapel of Holy Daisy and the prisons, besides the famous cannon-shot.

After to visit the castle we will go down for the Royal Mile to visit St Giles's Cathedral.

on the night, already , it is the ideal moment to do someone of the tours of ghoststhat you will find in the Royal Mile (between the Church Tron and St Giles's Cathedral).

The night in Edinburgh we will spend it in the hotel Balmoral, one of the best hotels in Scotland because the queen of England stayed one night in one of his exclusive rooms.

DAY 2

Today we will start by raising Calton Hill, the most famous hill of Edinburgh, known as " the Athens of the North " for the monuments that there they find. From there you will have a few magnificent conference of Edinburgh. Going down where we have risen we will take Princes Street until North Bridge comes to the bridge

Taking the Royal Mile in descending sense you will be happening for diverse museums and places of interest: the Museum of the Infancy of Edinburgh, the Museum of Edinburgh, the People's Story Museum and Canongate's Cemetery (where Adam Smith is buried)

DAY 3

On the second day of our cultural trip in Scotland, we leave the capital to enter the National Park Loch Lomond and the Trossachs. This one is a precious place replete with calm and beautiful corners close to the popular Lake Lomond. We will visit Luss's picturesque village, in the western shore of the lake to know his history and to contemplate magnificent Ben Lomond's conference that can be admired from his wharf. We will continue our itinerary up to Glencoe's not less famous valley, where in 1692 there took place one of the darkest episodes of the history of Scotland, the known one as " Glencoe's Massacre ".

We will spend the night in Fort William, to Ben Nevis's feet, the highest mountain of the United Kingdom.

DAY 4

The famous and emblematic Lake Ness sera our near destination in this fantastic cultural tour that we offer him in Scotland. We will realize an excursion by ship on his mysterious waters together with Drumnadrochit, a popular people placed together with the lake. We will visit also in a small bay the ruins of Urquhart's castle and his visitors' exceptional center. In the evening we will come to Inverness with free time to walk along the city before having dinner.

DAY 5

We will continue our cultural itinerary in Scotland travelling up to Skye's fabulous island, Before coming to our destination of today, we will know Eilean Donan's castle, placed strategically in the precious confluence of three fiords and famous for appearing in the movie " The Immortal ones ". Once in Skye, we will travel following our cultural tour up to Elgol's picturesque villa, from which we will be able to contemplate a few unforgettable conference panoramic of the mountains Cuillin. We will realize from here an agreeable walk by ship to visit the spectacular Loch Coruisk. The waters that bathe these coasts are frequently visited by seals, dolphins, pecular sharks, whales minke, marine otters and, in some occasions, killer whales.

DAY 6

This morning we will know Loch an Eilein. We will continue our trip visiting the Museum of Newtonmore's Folklore, a fascinating place in which we will know since the former inhabitants of the Highlands were living with the nature. In the evening we will do a visit to one of many distilleries of whiskey that they find of way Pitlochry, our destiny of today. Possibly we will visit Dalwhinnie's distillery, where we will know the process of creation of this legendary and famous drink known as the "uisge-beatha", which in Gael means the water of the life. We will spend the night in Pitlochry, a picturesque people construído in the Victorian epoch about the first tourist boom that developed in Scotland.

DAY 7 & 8

In the last day of this sensational cultural trip, we will go towards Stirling's historical locality where we will visit his famous castle, former court of the kings Estuardo. Placed in one of the oldest cities of Scotland, this castle offers magnificent conference of Stirling's valley, dominating strategically in all the directions. Under his battlements there took place some of the most important battles of the history of Scotland, as Stirling Bridge or Bannockburn. We will return later to Edinburgh and will give for concluído this sensational and unforgettable trip of cultural tourism in Scotland, an extraordinary and incredibly beautiful country.

The dinners and the daily lunches: Every morning we will stop in a local shop in order that every client could buy what it needs to have lunch. In the night, the guide will advise on the best places to have dinner in every people where we stop and the different prices.
