Scorseses quotes[on Ragging Bull ]: Robert De Niro wanted tomake this film. Notme. I

don'tunderstand anything aboutboxing. For me, it's like a physicalgame of chess.

It seems tome that any sensible person must see thatviolence

does not change the world and if it does, then only temporarily

Basically, youmake another movie, and another, and hopefully you feelgood about every picture youmake. And you say, "My name is onthat. I did that. It's OK". But don't getme wrong, I still get excited byit all. That, I hope, will never disappear.

My whole life has been movies and religion. That's it. Nothingelse.

[onstage at the 2007 Oscars after winning for Best Director] Could youdouble-check the envelope . . . ?
