3. School Uniforms do not cut down on bullying
High Cost of School UniformsUniforms are not cheap!
• Children are constantly growing, so having to buy new uniforms every year can become very costly.
• Many parents feel the addition of uniformsto their child's wardrobe is an added expense to their budget.
• Students will not wear the uniforms outside of school, so another set of
clothing must be purchased as well.
Freedom of Expression is stifled by School Uniforms
• Requiring students to conform every day in appearance may deter them from discovering their true individuality.
• Uniforms take away the right of young people to express their feelings through the clothing that they wear.
• Uniforms do not teach children how to deal with people who are different then themselves.
School Uniforms Do Not Cut Down on Bullying
• Clothes are not the root cause of bullying and therefore the bullying will continue, regardless of dress policy.
