Free Dress Day – Thursday, 19th September On the last day of term, Thursday, the 19th of September, we are holding a free dress day with a gold coin donation to support the school’s World Vision sponsor child Adrianna. All funds raised will be used to pay for her sponsorship which enables Adrianna to access improved healthcare, education, water, sanitation and food. Please wear free dress, but remember to wear a hat and sensible shoes (no thongs).

P&F News
AFL Tournament Last Friday our Year 6 AFL team had a great day out today at the first ever South Burnett AFL 9-a-side
tournament, finishing undefeated. They played exceptionally well together. Thanks to AFL Queensland and their
coaches for a fantastic day.
Wide Bay Under 13 Girls School Futsal Congratulations to Shanelle Zischke, Abbie Renouf-Dowdle and Lily Knight
for making the Wide Bay Under 13 Girls Futsal team on the weekend. They
will be competing at Coomera in the coming weeks. Well done!
NRL Rugby League Gala Day It was a fantastic day at the NRL 6-a-side Rugby League Gala day
at St John's on Monday. Nine teams from our school competed
across four divisions. Well done to all of the teams and players
involved. For some students, this was the first time they had
played either Rugby League or League Tag. Congratulations to
the Year 3/4 boys league team and Year 5/6 girls league tag team
for winning their divisions. Well done also to our Year 5/6 boys
league team and our second 5/6 girls league tag team for making
the grand finals. So close! Matty Reddacliff was selected as player
of his division, well done! A big thank you to Mrs Sandra Prain and
Mr Cameron Murphy for supplying jerseys for the teams today.
Finally, thank you to Mr Blake Mara and his team for all of the
organisation and effort that went into the gala day. A huge effort!
Swimming Week Our Swimming Week for students in Prep to Year 4 will run next term from Monday, the 11th of November to
Thursday, the 14th of November. Our swimming carnival will be on Friday, the 15th of November. We will send
home more details next term.
Happy Holidays! One of the things kids look forward to in the holidays is academic downtime, but reading and being involved in arts and other activities can help keep their minds sharp during the holidays. Here are some fun ways to keep learning, while having some fun doing it.
Read Ingredients while you bake together. It’s a great way to learn measurement and temperature.
Set aside time for kids to "show off" their new reading skills to visiting relatives. Children love being the focus of attention, and grandparents are usually more than willing to see their progress.
Find books that focus on an interest your child has.
Read and talk about books in the car.
Take part in story times at your local library. The most important part, however, is to have a great break and enjoy your school holidays. Please stay safe and we look forward to a great Term 4! Mrs BP
